Hello I know if your taking the time to read this then you have some interest in collecting diecast construction models.I dont claim to be a expert in this field but I do collect these models myself and have done so for several years with quite a large collection. So here are a few tips that I  have used with success over the years.First is decide what you like as far as heavy equipment goes either a certain brand or a certain kind etc.Or do like I do and just collect what you like regardless of type or brand. If your just getting into this field of collecting you will soon find out that at least 90% of these type of models are made in places other than the United States.Places such as Germany,Japan, and several other European countries. If your lucky enough to live in one of these places then you have better access to these models than those of us who live in the states do.These construction models seem to be a regional interest type collectable. The U.S seems to have a larger interest in diecast cars, hot rods,NASCAR and these types of models, where places overseas have a larger interest in diecast farm equipment, construction equipment. Now for those of us who dont live in a area were we have a local shop that carries these construction models we have to resort to catalogs,Ebay, other online sights, flea markets, garage sales, etc. Now before you get on places like E- Bay and start buying these models take some time and do some research.Look up some sights that have what you like new if possible then compare prices with some of these E-Bay sellers. Never just take the sellers word that what they have is worth what they say it is or as rare or hard to find as they say it is.Always remember what you think its worth is never going to be what the seller thinks its worth in a lot of cases you are better off letting one go and waiting on another one to come along if the price is to high .Remember on E-Bay there will always be another one comming along just give it time and be patient.Another good place and sometimes just as cheap is online stores that carry new models. They are as easy to find as typing into your search engine diecast construction. You can also go directly to the manufactors web sight and order direct even though this is not normally the cheapest way to go unless it is a model that is unique only to this company and only sold by them.No matter which of these methods you use to purchase your new construction diecast always remember if you order these offline and your on a budget like myself to figure in shipping cost,Sometimes shipping from overseas will cost as much as the model itself due to the weight of some of these models. Also remember that most of the models that I am talking about in this article are very highly detailed adult collectables with small functional moving parts and not for children to play with. This is just written for some good information and not as a buying guide and not to include all aspects of the diecast construction catagory just a few tips that have worked for me.If this guide is well recieved by my fellow E-Bayers I would be happy to write a better indepth guide on certain types of construction diecast. Also let me list a few names of manufactors of construction diecast here they are.NZG,JOAL,SHINSEI,DIAPET,ERTLE,CORGI,IMEX,MATCHBOX,GRADALL,CONRAD,TONKA,SIKU.just to name a few.I hope everyone has fun collecting and finds this guide at least entertaining if not helpfull. Thanks Don
