Considering what a popular brand Bare Escentuals is, there's been a lot of buzz concerning their newest, top shelf product called "Rare Minerals." "Rare Minerals" is make up that you wear to bed--- in essence, it's a night treatment for your skin that makes you feel prettier than that green blemish cream used to. It's supposedly packed with 72 organic macro and micro minerals and nutrients, and it's irritant and preservative-free, making it perfect for sensitive skin. Top that off with a time-release formula that renews, firms, hydrates, and reduces inflammation and you have pretty much the perfect skin treatment, right?
Here's my experience with this product: I use the "clear" version of the product. Actually, it's much darker than my fair skin tone and leaves me looking a bit orange, but I'm going to bed, so I don't really care. (My husband has seen me go to bed in much worse...) This treatment is easy to apply (just puff puff it on), and it feels fine, so my sensitive skin is satisfied. Surprisingly, the powder does NOT rub off on my cream-colored pillowcase overnight, so you can rest easy about that. So, with that stuff out of the way, the bottom line is, is it worth the money?
The answer: I think so. One nice thing this product does is it absorbs oil overnight, so I wake up with fewer clogged pores (hooray!). For me, that is my biggest skin concern, so even if that were all it did, I'd be thrilled with the product. However, I've also noticed my skin looking and feeling smoother, clearer, and brighter. $60 is definitely a serious chunk of change, so if youre expecting miracles you might want to take your money elsewhere. That being said, if you would like to simplify your nightly routine, and enjoy the simplicity of just one quality night product, especially if you have sensitive skin, this just might be the ticket for you. Oh, and if you've been wearing your make up to bed every night so your boyfriend won't see your break outs (and you know who you are!).... run don't walk to your closest Sephora and treat yourself and your skin to a jar of Rare Minerals!
