You want to buy Bare Escentuals on ebay but are having a hard time comparing products because of different size references?  Unsure how many uses you will receive out of a particular size?  This guide is designed to help you determine the sizes of Bare Escentuals products so know what you are purchasing (and hopefully not overpaying for a very small size item.)

Bare Escentuals Common Size Jars

Eyeshadow/Liner Shadow/Glimmer/Glimpse

0.57 g/ 0.02 oz - This is the standard size eyeshadow (including glimmers and glimpses).  The jar has approximately the same diameter as a quarter.

0.28 g/ 0.01 oz - This is the standard size liner shadow.  The jar is the same size as the eyeshadow jar.

0.85 g/ 0.03 oz - This is a large size eyeshadow.  It is the same size pot as a 2 gram foundation or mineral veil.  The jar measures approximately 2 inches in diameter.

Foundation

2 g / 0.06 oz - This is the small size foundation.  Bare Escentuals states that this is approximately a 2 month supply of foundation.  Many customers (myself included) have found that this usually lasts longer than 2 months (this lasts me between 4 and 5 months if I wear foundation everyday.)

9 g / 0.3 oz - This is a full size foundation.  Bare Escentuals states that this is approximately a 9 month - 1 year supply.

Mineral Veil

0.57 g / 0.02 oz - This is the small size mineral veil.  This is the same size jar as a standard eyeshadow.  This is a very good size for travel. 

2 g / 0.06 oz - This is a medium size mineral veil.  This is approximately a 2 month supply of mineral veil.

13.5 g / 0.47 oz - This is a large size mineral veil.  This is approximately a 9 month - 1 year supply of mineral veil.

Deluxe Size - There is a larger size (the deluxe) size mineral veil which is released once a year on QVC.  I will add the exact measurements of this jar at a later date.  If memory serves, I believe it is approximately 3 times the size of the large mineral veil and is in the same size jar as the body glimmer.

Blush/ All Over Face Color

0.57 g / 0.02 oz - This is a small size blush or face color.  This is the same size jar as a standard eyeshadow.  This is a very good size for travel or to try a new color.

0.85 g/ 0.03 oz - This is a full size blush or face color.  It is the same size pot as a 2 gram foundation or mineral veil.  The jar measures approximately 2 inches in diameter.

Samples

Samples come in a variety of sizes.  Most are between 1/8 and 1/2 of a teaspoon.  Samples provide a less expensive way to try a new color before investing in a full size jar.  Check the listing to see what size sample you will receive.  Most small (1/8 t) samples are intended to give a few wearings (8-10 maximum).  Select the size sample that best suits your needs.

If the price of an item on ebay seems low, check the description.  It may be for a sample size jar.
