Barbie Diorama: Art Deco Living Room : eBay Guides

This is one of my news projects and I have to say one of my favorites.


The piano is from an old Barbie playset which was sold at Hudson's department store.  In addition to the grand piano, you also get a really cool deco style sofa and a mod looking fireplace. 


The hutch is a classic Barbie pink piece which I painted and then put silver foil in the back.  The two chairs are the stars of the room -- both are trinket boxes.  The coffee table is one piece from Salvation army (I think it was a part of a napkin rack) and the top is an oval piece of wood from Joanns.  I painted the oval wood (and the wood of the mirror) in silver and embellished with black beads.  The Tiffany lamp is one of my favorite pieces -- I got it at a Gigis in Chicago.


The wall paper is remnant fabric.  The floor is contact paper.  One rug is from a Jason Wu chair set and the other is a very tattered piece of rabbit fur.  Finally, the dramatic plummage is just some curly feathers from Michaels in a small vase.
