Ban Dai
Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog
Toys
One day I was driving down the road when I was trying to figure out what would push that button to make my great niece and nephew to want to learn to read. They were smart enough to learn to read but not learning in school. Even tutoring at Sylvan was not working. I saw a plastic playschool fort on the side of the road took it home cleaned it up. The kids all went crazy over it. So I decided to find knights and horses for it. When I began looking in the stores I could find nothing except a simple small plastic set similar to the cow boy and Indian sets that they proceeded to loose around the house and yard as they played with them. So I decided to look on Ebay. I all ready knew from the past that things I could find no where else could be found on Ebay. First I looked at Playschool which were nice but a big young in design and very difficult to win though I tried. Then I won a few Imaginext but they were a bit small though cute for the fort. Then somehow while looking at toys and knights I ran into Ban Dai made Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog from the now defunct television show of Knights of Tir Na Nog. The toys were highly recommended for authenticity of style and design along with child interest in playing with by the Canadian Council on Toys such that I decided to try a few. I was amazed at how authentic their designs were to the armor I had seen in the London Armory in Britan when I visited my sister. Such that I collected 3 of the few big ones they made and have them on a shelf. I collected the McDonalds complete sets which if you get them in the bag you get a dragon part such that I made several beautiful dragons (they are better for display than play as they tend to come apart when children play with them but they are very pretty possibly can be superglued together). The Mc Donalds toys are still very readily available on Ebay and they are very durable new or used. The other toys are often found new or used. The dragon is one of the coolest dragons I bought on Ebay very authentic live looking if one ever existed I think this one would look close. Such that I understand a man telling me his child destroyed it at night as it scared him. The dragon tends to loose parts with rough play so it is for an older child or great for display. And I won some horses on Ebay that the bigger knights can ride. Since the bigger ones tend to have pop off parts that younger children loose the used ones without all the part or parts missing work well as they have chain mail under the armor just like real knights use to do. They are pretty cool looking with or without all their armor. The problem is if you have a small teething puppy the soft plastic is something they desire and like to chew on so keep them up off the floor I had to replace some of the set as the new puppy would steal them from Logan when he was sleeping with one. The other sets that are from Ban Dai young children tend to tear apart and disassemble we learned from the little toddler boy in the family who kept stealing Logans Knights of Tir Na Nog as he liked them also. I would suggest the McDonalds toys for any child over the age of three possibly younger can play with some of them or all of them and the ones with more parts for older children who would not tend to eat them the Canadian council recommended age 5 for these and up. Keep in mind they have many small parts so if you have a young child and a toddler you may just want to give the main toy to the child with just one weapon as each Knight comes with several weapons to simulate the weaponry of the days of old and the television show. I bought the movie. It is ok but geared probably for an older child such that it drags on a bit for a younger child. The dragon scene is interesting and funny but I will leave that to the avid collector to find out just what exactly happened. Oh the first word Logan wanted to learn to spell after getting the big Dragon of the Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog was dragon it was his first word he began working to learn to read and write. So my thanks to the sellers of Ebay and Ebay for selling a totaly awesome dragon that everyone says that is one cool dragon.
