What happens when you sell an item, the buyer isn't happy and they want to return it? For me, I ask they return it in AS RECEIVED condition. Sounds easy enough right? What do you do when they send you back an item, you receive it and it's not the one you sent? This happened to me and I was extremely upset to say the least.
The buyer wants thier money back, and you do not have your original item. STOP and THINK. First of all do not send back a reply immediately because you may say something that you will regret. ASK QUESTIONS! What I did was ask if there was some sort of mix up. The buyer said no, there wasn't. Stand your ground. Let them know how you feel. I, for one, will not allow this to happen without speaking my peace. The buyer threated me with a dispute. I thought about what the best way to handle it would be. I asked her to put the dispute in, I have the truth on my side. It will be up to Ebay and Pay Pal to handle how it comes out.
Let both Ebay and Pay Pal know what is going on. They will put notes in your account history. So far, this buyer has not opened up a dispute. If she does, we will take it from there. From what I have been told, from both Ebay and Pay Pal, 95% of the time the person who is not telling the truth backs down.
If this does ever happen to you, remember to stick to your guns. Honesty is always the best policy. If it turns out in your favor then great! If it doesn't, you know you did your best by telling the truth.
As far as feedback goes: It is important to leave an honest comment. If negative feedback is appropriate then that is what needs to be done. You may find that you get a negative yourself in return. The first negative you get stings like crazy! People will read it, you have a place to comment under the feedback received. If you don't leave the negative feedback then someone else may be caught in this... I know for me, I need to tell the truth and protect others that will follow.
