We try to provide answers to all of your questions about our Bahamas Cruise vacation packages that include Port Lucaya Resort.  The answers  are based on the most frequently asked questions by past passengers.  Please review & if you still have questions please contact us.

Based on our packages for Cruise & Stay at Port Lucaya Resort

When can we travel?   You have one full year to book your vacation.  We will email your Bahamas reservation package to you after purchase of package(s).  You may request travel dates at any time after you have received your package; however, we ask that you request your travel dates at least 30 days in advance. We will provide you with all package details by email including our online reservation form link to expedite reservation process for you. (see reservation terms in the package description)

When does the ship depart?  Discovery Cruise Lines, Discovery Sun ... sails daily to and from Ft. Lauderdale, there are no restrictions on the dates that you can travel, unless stated in reservation terms.  The sailing times are listed in the description. 

Ship departs ... from Ft. Lauderdale, daily at 7:45am & arrives in the Bahamas at 1:00pm.  On the return, the ship departs the Bahamas at 4:45pm, nice evening dinner cruise on the way back to Florida arriving at 10:00pm. It only takes 5 – 6 hours to get to the Bahamas.

Can we take our Friends, Family or Children?   Yes

Each package is valid for two adults, unless stated otherwise.  If you have adults and children you need to purchase at least one package for a family of 4 if children are under 12 yrs old. Adult package rates apply to age 12 & older. If there are just 2 adults traveling and you have 3 or 4 children traveling with you, we will request adjoining rooms and you need to purchase a minimum of 2 packages.

Buy it now price ... applies to anyone age 12 yrs and older. 

How do the taxes work?  Why aren't they included in the package price?  Simply, taxes are non-commissionable, not included in these packages & not paid until reservations submitted, which is great for you because you don't have to pay for everything at once.

• All travelers (except children under 6) pay cruise vacation taxes/charges/gov’t fees/departure tax $169 per person.
• Children 6 yrs to 11 yrs old stay free & only pay taxes listed above when sharing room with parents/guardians
• Children 6 mos. to 5 yrs old ... are tax exempt. Sail & Stay FREE, when sharing room with parents/guardians. (no package needed)
• Stay free applies to 1 child per 1 adult. 
• If there is just 2 adults & you have 3 or more children, you need to purchase an additional package(s) to cover them.
• Current resort taxes are $14 per night per adult (applies to age 12 & older) not included or due until reservations are confirmed 

How many people are allowed to stay in one room?  Maximum number of people per room is 4, regardless of age, no exceptions. Each package provides you with one room, if you need more than one room; you need to purchase additional packages. 

What if there are more than 4 people traveling?  We will request adjoining or adjacent rooms to accommodate your family.  We do this all the time for families.

Can we all go at the same time, same date, same resort?  Yes, we can book you and all of your friends and family for same departure, same resort.

How can I travel FREE on this package?  Get a group together of family, friends, business associates (a minimum of 16 adult passengers, based on double occupancy) and we will get you 1 free package.

What is the minimum age to use this package?  You must be at least 18 years of age unless accompanied by an adult.  Unlike other major cruise lines, this ship allows that you only have to be 18.  Minimum age to drink & gamble in the Bahamas is 18 yrs old.

Is Airfare included?  No, Airfare is not included; it is up to you to get to Ft. Lauderdale.  If you need air, we suggest you try the only searches such as cheaptickets or orbitz, however, we do not suggest you book air until we get your Bahamas dates confirmed. 

How far is the airport to the cruise port?  The Ft. Lauderdale airport is only 4 miles from the cruise port

Are Drinks, Meals, Activities, Entertainment included?  Meals, Activities, Entertainment included only while you are aboard ship.  Meals, activities, entertainment are not included at this resort.  Drinks are not included on ship or at the resort

Do I have to purchase anything else?  No, you do not have to purchase anything extra to book your reservations.   You pay the buy it now price right now and when you are ready to submit reservations, you pay the taxes shown above.

Are we required to attend a time-share or sales presentation?  No, absolutely not!  No times share or sales presentations are associated with any of our packages.

Can I upgrade my hotel or add extra nights to my package?   Yes, you may upgrade your hotel or add as many nights as you like. We have packages with more nights listed in our eBay store & upgrade properties such at the Island Seas Resort, Sheraton & Westin Our Lucaya all located on the beach and the All Inclusive Beach Resort, Wyndham Fortuna, just click on the link below to access our ebay store for upgrade packages.  If you do not see what you want in our eBay store, please contact us. Do we need a passport?  Currently ... US & Canadian Citizens: Must provide certified copy of birth certificate & photo ID or a valid passport. (children under 16 require a birth certificate, but not a photo id).

• Effective:  December 31, 2006, all US Citizens no matter what age ... will need a passport to travel to the Bahamas.
• Non- US Citizens: Passport required, multiple-entry visa & Bahamian visa may be required.
• Please check with the Bahamian consulate at 305-373-6295 for information on proper documentation.

Is there a place to park our car if we drive to the cruise port?  Yes there is a parking garage right at the cruise port, cost is approx $12 per day to park.  If you stay at one of the hotels in Ft. Lauderdale near the cruise port they usually offer free parking while you are away on the cruise.

Do you arrange Pre and Post hotel stay in Ft. Lauderdale?  Yes we provide that information with your vacation package for your convenience.

Where is our luggage stored during the cruise?  Luggage is stored in the ship’s luggage hold during the cruise.

What is the catch?   There is no catch. We are travel agents and have contracts with the cruise lines & hotels, which is how we offer you these special package rates.  We send 1000's of people to the Bahamas each year.   You will book your reservations directly with us through our online reservation form.
