When I was pregnant I really wanted the Aquarium Bath Seat. When I received it as a gift at my baby shower I was so excited. This tub costs $30 at Target. When my daughter was born I used it often because it has a newborn hammock. I used this tub for approximately one month. It just became too time consuming to take out the tub and get all of her bath products together in the kitchen and then I would have to keep the water running in the sink as I gave her a sponge bath and not having enough counter space I was constantly knocking the baby wash on the floor. Don't get me wrong, baby tubs are life savers when your baby's umbilical cord has not fallen off. But they are only on for up to 10 days.
I finally got the nerve to put my baby in the bathtub after a month. She loves it. She likes the water to be all around her and she pushes herself off the side and slides back and forth in the tub. I as a new mother thought it would be nicer to have a baby tub, but have now discovered that it is so much easier to stick my baby in the bath tub. I hope this has helped you in making your decision between a baby tub and bathing your baby in the bath tub.
