DONT DO IT!

I have purchased six used spinning reels over the last year, all Shimano, all advertised as, like new, never seen water and used once. Every one of these reels had some sort of problem mostly bad bearings or worn main shaft/pinion gear. I do not know if the sellers were misinformed, did not know their item or a little sneaky (filling reel gearbox with heavy grease).

I studied the pictures and asked questions thinking I was buying a good reel. Some reels appeared new untill I had a fish on the line and heard/ felt the rough bearings or noticed the wobble in the spool. I priced new bearings and considered returning reels for a refund. Too pricey, decided to chalk it up to experience. Will be listing six Shimano reels as parts this fall.

Just wanted to share my experiences, hoping I could save someone a headache or two.
