BUYING USED CLOTHES ON EBAY
Have you ever bought used clothes on eBay, only to receive them in either poor condition or they don't fit correctly? Well, then take my advise and learn to be more perceptive when shopping for used clothing items on eBay.
I have learned over the years to be extremely cautious when buying used clothes on eBay. Here are some of the things that I recommend when shopping for used clothes on eBay:
-
READ, read, read the entire description!
-
Look for NWT (new with tags)
-
Look for NWOT (new without tags)
-
Look for no mention of NWT or NWOT
-
New or not new
-
Look for previously worn or used
-
Look for no mention of being worn or used
Once you have determined that the clothing item(s) are not new, check in description, the item(s) condition.
-

-

-

-

-
Like new
-
Hardly worn
-
Barely worn
-
Worn once or twice
-
No mention of item(s) condition
Look for these words in the item(s) description:
- No rips
- No tears
- No holes
- No piling
- No snags
- No fading
- No stains
- No missing buttons or snaps
- Zipper works
- Missing belt
If you don't see any or all these words in the item(s) description for the condition, then email and ask the seller!
I can't tell you how many times I received clothes that were faded from excessive washing or piling from excessive wear. I've even gotten clothes that had slight stains on them. However, the worst transaction that I encountered was when I received a very classy outfit that wasn't dry cleaned prior to shipping, when the item description said, "worn once", I never in my wildest dreams expected a seller to ship out a clothing article that had creases in the buttock area, waist area & well you know where area! It was vulgar and distasteful to say the least.
Look for clothing item(s) washing instructions.
- Washable
- Hand wash, line dry
- Dry clean only
If you don't see the washing instructions, then email the seller and ask! If it is dry clean only, ask if it has been dry cleaned prior to listing the item for sale. Some people like to know what the fabric content of the material is also. Again, if you don't see that information, then by all means, ask the seller.
Check the size of the garment. Make sure that it is in the size that you presently wear. Some manufacturers clothing sizes are not all the same measurements. So be sure and look for the measurements of the the garment.
- Bust size
- Waist size
- Hip size
- Arm length
- Overall length from shoulder to hem or waist to hem
- Rise size
If you don't see the measurements listed, then email the seller and ask!
I have to stress two very important factors when shopping for used clothes on eBay!
- READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION
- ASK THE SELLER QUESTIONS
