First off, you should not buy something like Creed's Green Irish Tweed(GIT) off eBay.
Having said that, you probably still want to buy it, so take careful notes. Fake Creeds don't smell or last, as long as the real stuff, and often times watered down or filled with David Off Cool Water.

These 5 Indicators that persons are selling fake Creeds:

1. It is cheap - $60 dollars and below cheap for 4 oz? it retails for $225! thats obviously a big hint.
I suggest that if you so desire to save money, get the REAL PICTURES before you pay $40 for a bottle of goat urine and vodka.
Or, you find individuals who are trying to get rid of their used, or otherwise unsuitable products. People that sell 9 other GIT on eBay not as a store are fake

2. Feedback - Any negative feedback on the authenticity of the cologne is usually a signal that experts have caught on to the seller's scams.
Go to www.toolhaus.org and check out the history of the bidder. Usually 99.3% positive ratings don't mean CRAP!

3. Generic Pictures - They obviously don't even have the camera to take a picture of the actual product and use some Google image picture of the box.
Often times, the image of the box they post is drastically different from the one you receive. Big hint.

4. Does not smell like GIT! - Easy one. Go to a store, or simply spend 5 bucks buying a 0.05EDP tester on eBay to compare the scent.
Fake ones do not last for 16 hours as the real one does, and the fake ones often smell like watery cologne or Davidoff's Cool Water. GIT smells unbelievable!

5. Packaging - Its not called "GREEN FRICH TWEED" and according to Creed, in their 200 years, they have never made a type.
Look for oddly placed commas, periods, and generally blatant errors. Thats usually a sign it was made in China.

If you do find an error, do not hesitate to contact seller for refund or PayPal if all else fails. Usually eBay does a horrible job with this and gets money regardless of counterfeit items. A good website is basenotes.com and its community/forum.

With this being said, I am 100% confident that 98% of all Creed GITs  4.0 oz colognes are FAKES on eBay.
I suggest:
1) Buy off reputable dealers, amazon, costco, neiman marcus
2) Buy samples and testers, usually not counterfeited
3) Buy off individuals ONLY IF YOU MUST!
