There are a few methods of producing custom bands. The most common is by debossing (molding the saying into the band at a factory). While this method is generally less expensive per piece, there is usually an additional set-up fee (to make a mold), a minimum number of pieces, and usually take several weeks to get.. They would need to be all of the same size and color and there are restrictions on the font, amount of text and on graphics.

It's now possible to have bands made by laser engraving. You can purchase as few as a single piece, get assorted colors and sizes, get pretty much any font and can insert many graphics or even custom logos in some cases. You can get bands in a few days usually in small quantities. They are a little bit more money due to the labor involved, but the difference in detail(as compared to debossing) is amazing. There's plenty of margin left for re-sale. Many venders offer both methods of making bands.
