I was recently selling a car on eBay and the reserve price of the vehicle was not met so the auction ended and nobody won the car. A few days later I was hearing from the bidders about a second chance offer I gave them. I had not given anybody a second chance offer for the car. About 5 bidders emailed me asking if I sent them a second chance offer. All 5 of the offers were different. I realized that there are people out there sending fraudulent emails to bidders as a second chance offer. These emails look very similar if not identical to the real second chance offer emails.
My advice to all buyers regardless the dollar amount or the item, CHECK "MY MESSAGES" IN MY EBAY to verify that these emails are truthfully from ebay. Also contact the seller directly to see if they actually sent you a second chance offer. Dont be scammed!!!
If an email that looks like its coming from ebay looks suspicious dont hesitate to forward the email to spoof @eBay.com They will immediatley notify you if the email did infact come from ebay.
Also you can forward suspicious PayPal emails to Spoof @PayPal.com
Be safe on eBay!!!
