FAKE ROSARY SURFACES ON EBAY AND HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ORIGINAL AND DUPLICATE

Here are some key points to look for to tell if your rosary is authentic or not:

• The chain is made of sterling silver and very heavy.  This is poured into a special mold made by D&G.  The fake rosary that is surfacing on ebay is made of a very light weight and aluminum appearing substance.  Could also appear to look plated.  Not heavy at all, and feels and looks fragile.  The fake would be easily breakable where the original is much more sturdy and well made.
• The authentic rosary beads are made of rosewood, very smooth to the sight.  The beads on the fake you can visably see ridges, cuts and or bumps and are painted black.  If your beads have these imperfections it is a fake.
• The crucifix is again poured into a mold and is smooth and polished.  The fake appears to be plated, and has slight bumps to it.
• The Dolce & Gabbana metal tag on the closure of the rosary on the authentic is sold sterling silver.  The trademark word "Dolce&Gabban" are crystal clear to read and imbedded into the metal.  The fake it will appear to be slurred or blurry to the sight and poured and plated not pressed.
• The Virgin Mary symbol on the orginal is apprx 1" x 1" and very beautiful to the sight, again the fake appears to made of aluminum pour and plated or coated with a sterling silver like appearence.  This causes the details of the V.M. to be skewed and cheap looking.
• RED FLAG: IF YOU ARE OUT BID NEVER EVER take the second chance offer. These ebay sellers are using bid by PROXY to hike up the price of the fake rosary and then coming to the buyer second in line and saying that the original buyer could not complete the transaction OR they have another one that they can sell you.
