I have noticed that more and more sellers are using the name "Brighton" in order to attract unaware buyers to their merchandise and it is FRUSTRATING!
I consider myself an avid collector of BRIGHTON jewelry. I have purchased Brighton here on ebay as well as in the Brighton store. When I first learned of Brighton jewelry, I purchased some pieces on ebay--not know the true quality of REAL Brighton pieces!! Needless to say, I now know some of the pieces are fake. The bracelets I purchased on ebay are not even close to being as heavy as a real Brighton item!!
Beware of these names that are used (keyword spamming) on ebay:
-
Brighton Bay
-
Brighton Tin with watch (usually a Geneva watch with a BRIGHTON tin)
-
Diane Brighton
- Bryton Jewelry
Some sellers will go as far as to mispell an item, (Brihton) to lure a prospective buyer in. You purchase the item, find out it's NOT authentic BRIGHTON, contact the seller and THEN the seller states the item clearly states BRIHTON-NOT Brighton!! Be careful, they're sneaky LOL!!
Know your Brighton jewelry quality. If you are unsure, ask the seller what their policy is IF the item turns out to NOT be genuine BRIGHTON! Let the seller know that you have every intention to take the item to a BRIGHTON dealer for proof of authentication. IF the piece is sold to you as GENUINE BRIGHTON, and it is not-then there are other steps that can be taken by YOU and BRIGHTON!!
KNOW what questions to ask when purchasing BRIGHTON from anyone other than a genuine BRIGHTON DEALER!!! I have noticed that some sellers tell you that their "feedback" speaks for itself and they WILL NOT answer your questions as to the authenticity of the pieces they are selling. BE careful-that is normally their way of saying "it's fake, but I'm not going to admit to it!" Brighton jewelry can bring you a lifetime of wear, but only if it is genuine--don't be fooled by imitiations!!
