WATCH OUT FOR TAIWANESE BOOTLEG DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION CD'S!!!
Everyday I check eBay to see if any new Dance Dance Revolution CD auctions are listed. I'm a huge collector of the DDR Soundtracks. However, last year I became the victim of numerous falsely labeled auctions. The UPC matched the actual product, producing a stock photo, however, I was sent fakes. How do I know they are fakes?? Simple. Every KONAMI Soundtrack has a logo somewhere on the CD.
For the older Dance Dance Revolution soundtracks (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, MAX, MAX2, EXTREME, Solo), the logo is on the top right corner of front booklet. It is a white box with KONAMI's orange and red logo.
On the newer soundtracks the logo is in a small red bar in the upper left corner of the front booklet.
Anything that does NOT have one of these logos is a fake. Bootlegs are illegal and prohibited by eBay.

Take a look at this:
Q: OK, OK. So what makes this fake? The red bar is in the upper left corner, just like you said.
A: Look closer: Scroll down...

What gets people is the super cheap price. Bootlegs are cheap because they are easy to distribute. Not because they are out-of-date and must go now. Usually, unless the seller is from Japan, don't expect a REAL DDR soundtrack to go for any less than $25. This is the total because they are hard to come by. Some stores on eBay sell ONLY legit soundtrack while others sell only bootlegs.
Some helpful hints for buying DDR soundtracks:
1) If the logo is not visible, don't consider it. Buying illegal bootlegs is also against the law.
2) If they do not respond to emails, don't consider it. Most of the time, they are aware of it.
3) Look for the code TOCP-6XXXX (X indicating numbers). It is always present on legit Toshiba-EMI DDR Soundtracks.
4) Make sure the Jewel case is visible and not just a scanned photo of the front booklet.
5) Make sure it is not from these labels:
Ever Anime
Miya Records
K-O Records
Alion Records
Smile Face Records
Son-May Records
These are ALL Asian bootleggers who make money on all sorts of soundtrack bootlegging. They have no rights to any of this music. This is evident because they blank out KONAMI's logos throughout their reprinted booklets.
6) Consider the price. If it is low, but it looks convincing, check it out, but if the above qualities are missing, then we have a bootleg on our hands.
7) Make sure it is MADE IN JAPAN, Not TAIWAN!!!

This is a cry to eBay to carefully research these false listings and only allow legit merchandise to be sold.
I hope this helps anyone looking to buy the real deal.
