I'm a currency collector and have been wondering to myself about ink smears. Well I did a little experiment of my own, and if you take Hopp's # 9 Gun Powder Solvent, you can smear the ink on any bill if you do it carefully. You can tell a fake by if the bill seems transparent or greasy. Real smears will be more defined, as in the smear line will be straight and parallel, instead of everywhere.
Also if you would like my opinion on a bill that you bought and you think it's a fake please contact me at po2venero at hot mail . com- if i dont do it this way it wont let me put it on here. Put subject as bill error/fake/$1,$2,$5,$10,$20,$50,$100
Hope this is helpful. Please vote if you think so, that way I will know.
Thanks CMC
