Ever find a toy that you played with and want to buy it for your child?  See a BBQ Grill or Computer that you want? You can find these on eBay, but BEWARE !!! Many items have been declared unsafe and have been recalled!

Thirty (30) years ago, the U.S. Government established a regulatory agency called the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission, also known as USCPSC.  Before that, there was no government agency to serve as a watch dog for us! This group examines more than 15,000 types of consumer products from crib sets to toys to electronic products.

Items are recalled every day when they are found to have a risk of injury, are defective or have lead to a fatality.  Yikes!

The CPSC agency provides valuable, reliable information for all consumers and in a variety of formats! 

They can be contacted for information by phone, snail mail, e-mail, at their web site.  At their web site, you will find lists of items and can also conduct a search to determine if the item in question has been recalled.  Note: Information is available in several languages (English and Spanish) and for hearing impaired through a teletypewriter! 

PLEASE do all you can to be an informed consumer, especially when it comes to safety and items that you will be bringing into your home!
