Suprising or not, there are poachers on ebay. Some targeting new ebayers by subtitling "Virgin Ebayer's Welcome".
True story... I fell for an auction for $1.00 and shipping at .01 cents and paid immediately. Considering I read the fine print and still didn't understand how the product I was purchasing could be so cheap, I took advantage of the deal outlined in writing.
The seller wrote back to me in a seprate email (not a paypal invoice) asking me to send her $100 more to cover additional shipping charges, handling, processing, time and packaging for which she stated could not be entered into her auction. (Read that again if you need too.....)
I promptly declined, she never shipped my acution and I followed ebay protocal and reported. My husband and I considered waiting to leave feedback, however, upon her receipt of the dispute, she immediately left us our first negative feedback. I had provided this same information to Square Trade who then revoked her membership upon my listing over 20 similar cases described throughout her feedback. You could almost say I was on a mission to knock out a bad guy since I was taking one for the team but.... A day or so later, ebay retracted her feedback upon review of the case finding her activity fraudulent. Since, I just couldn't help my curiosity and have peeked to see if she was continuing her unethical business tactics. She is still deviant...UHG!
So please read auctions carefully, all the details, right down to a return policy. Review feed back ratings and more. Should someone ask for additional money outside what is listed in the auction, save that documentation and certainly don't pay. Report it to Ebay who will help you.
As the customer, the seller should appreciate your consideration and business for without you........they can't make a living!
