Please be aware of Fake Art!

I am fimiliar with Hungarian art, and there are a large number of fake hungarian pieces always up for sale.

Please consult with me and I will try and help inditify for you.

Especially Schieber, Kadar, Rippl-Ronai, Csontvary, Fried Pal are the main fake areas

Just because a painting looks old, doesnt mean anything.

Please try to use your eyes, and if you cannot, or do not have the time, consult with an expert or do not be upset if what you bough turns out to be fake, much later.

Also note, some UK, US galeries are simply not knowledgeable on Hungarian, Austrian, etc art. They will say a piece is original, althought they really have no idea.

There are plenty of free resources and galleries in Hungary where you can send pictures to. Amongst them the leaders Kieselbach Gallery or Virag Judit Gallery. Live with this free possibility!
