I've been collecting & selling vintage toys for 22 years. I stumbled across the best way to clean vintage rubber & plastic toys after trying out a product I had bought to clean the classic wide white wall tires on my vintage 1950s car. I used "WESTLEY'S BLEACH WHITE", it is made to clean those yellowed rubber white walls, it makes them look bright white & brand new. I started using this on old plastic, rubber & vinyl toys and it works miracles. many times I've tried my usual "409" cleaner and it just doesn't get everything- especially in small thin cracks & stains, but the Westley's is amazing! I use the spray bottle, just a tiny amount is needed and the 32 oz. bottle will last me over 1 year. You can get this stuff any any auto parts store, it is not expensive and will help you make money by cleaning your vintage item to like new. It works best on rubber & vinyl products- anything slightly porous. It will usually not damage painted areas, but test a small hidden area first. I usually use cotton swabs or toothbrushes to get out deep dirt in crevasses & cracks. Once you try this you'll see what I mean. It works great to make any older white rubber or vinyl item to go back to bright white. If Westley's can't clean it or make it whiter then you're at a loss, nothing else will do it. Wear gloves or wash your hands quickly with water, it acts a bit like lye, it will not burn, but will also clean very dirty fingers. Wear a mask if you plan to get you face close to where you spray, I just hold the item at arms length & I'm fine. You might want to wear eye protection if you plan to work close to your item..
