Considering getting a Bengal Kitten or Cat? Here is a little background before you buy one.
Bengals are cross-breeds - Domestic Tabby Cats mated with Asian Snow Leopards produce these wonderful miniature leopard/cats! Bengals are accepted for registration by The International Cat Association.
Bengals come in several different colors but true Bengals are:
Classic - Brown Spotted, Seal Mink Spotted - Creamy White or Brown Marble - Classic Brown with Creamy White Swirls. A Bengal's fur looks as if it has Gold Glitter dusted throughout it's coat & is especially noticeable in sunlight. Eye color ranges from Golden Emerald to Blue in the Seal Minks.
Females weigh up to 22 lbs. at marurity while Males weigh up to 27 lbs. at maturity.
They make very loveable pets & do get along very well with other cats in one's household. Bengals can jump straight up into the air at 8 feet in a still position, in one spot! They have no fear of water & in fact love the water. Don't be surprised if your Bengal decides to join you in the shower!
While Bengals will interact with other family members, they are very much one person cats. A Bengal will decide who their master/mistress is and one could be sitting across the room and within seconds, will curl up very contentedly in your lap. Call you Bengal by name & he/she will come running & jump into your lap with a leaping bound.
Bengals can be very vocal and make a variety of sounds, many of these very much like an Asian Snow Leopard's rumbling growl!
