(BEFORE YOU BUY GENERIC PRILOSEC OTC!!!!)

First things first you can get great deals on eBay, we all know that. But can you get something for very little usually not. This was the case that I experienced when I purchased some generic Prilosec OTC from an eBay seller. I thought things would be great, I could get almost a years supply of Prilosec OTC for the same price that I usually buy 42 pills for, who wouldn't make this deal. Also the seller’s feedback couldn't be much better over 3,000 positive feedbacks and only 2 negatives. I thought to myself, this is great I can save so much money and get my meds for cheap; I was ready to walk into the major retail supply chain that I normally purchased my Prilosec from and tell them to shove it, LOL! I am glad I didn't. I was so careful to make sure the generic form was just the same as the original. I am a nurse so I thought I knew my meds well and I did, the auction stated that I was purchasing Generic Omeprazole Magnesium which is the exact same thing as Prilosec OTC, down to the same dosage and Milligrams and both were extended release. Then I made sure the expiration date was good, they weren't to expire till October of 2008, another plus here as I was buying almost a years supply, I'm thinking I will be taken these cheap little babies forever. Well if only life were that simple.
Exactly 2 weeks later I had stopped taking (ran out) of my real Prilosec OTC 20mg E.R. pills and my package had just arrived in the mail with the new Generic Omeprazole Magnesium 20mg E.R. Pills. So after taking these little guys after about a week I noticed at dinner one night I started to get a little indigestion, I thought nothing of it, didn't even consider the new meds, it hadn't even crossed my mind. About another week went by and well you guessed it, it progressively got worse until it got so bad I broke down and order some real Prilosec OTC on eBay and awaited shipment (all you eBayers know I couldn't simply go to the store to buy these, everything has to be on eBay, save money :-) well the real Prilosecs were gonna take awhile to ship because of low inventory from the seller, he told me they would ship in about 1 week or so, I thought I will be fine, I can wait till they arrive. BOY WAS I WRONG, those cheap little generic pills that claim to be EXACTLY the same as my real Prilosecs were doing NOTHING to help out my indigestion. It was as if I was taking a placebo, zip, zilch, notta, nothing. So before my real Prilosec's came in the mail I had to literally run to the pharmacy one night to get some Tagament to help alleviate some of the pain I was having. Long story and bad experience here. My advice to all is if it seems to good a deal to be true.....it probably is. Hope this helps at least one person, and don't waist you money, buy the real stuff.
(PLEASE NOTE: I take Prilosec daily to help with heartburn per my doctor, most can take it for a short period of time to help but some of us need it daily, for anyone who uses it no matter how briefly I still wouldn't buy the cheap generic , I don't know what they putting in the pills but clearly isn't what is put in the real Prilosecs)
Thanks so much and I hope this review was helpful, please let me know if it was by
