For fans and novice collectors of Avon Jewelry keep in mind that Avon did not begin selling Jewelry until 1971.  In 2006 Avon celebrated 35 years in jewelry.  Claims of jewelry items prior to 1971 are not valid except for award jewelry, these are peices that were earned by representatives.     Avon award jewelry is usually stamped Presidents Club, Honor Society etc., with the year it was presented.  Some of these pieces are very collectible.  Also claims of gold or silver plating, unless the seller has the orginal box supporting that claim be careful.
