Do you really know who you are buying from?  With ebay's anonymity, the answer is NO.

Did you know that one person can register on ebay with multiple identities, in multiple states?  If you buy from a seller registered in Florida, does it make you a bit nervous that you are asked to send payment to a New York address?  Or that your item is being shipped from New York?  If this does not bother you, you are either very trusting or just have more money than brains.  I know of one particular seller who has had about 30 previous IDs, all suspended for fraud in one form or another, yet she continues to come back time and again.  How is this possible?  Don't you now have to have a credit card to register?  Ah, but she is registered in 3 STATES under three different names, so I guess false identities and fraudulent credit cards are par for the course.  The best part is that she has a CONFIRMED PAYPAL ADDRESS in New York that is associated with her ebay ID which is registered in California.  If PayPal is owned by ebay, how do they not notice this little discrepancy?  It's a mystery.  And since her selling ID is registered in Florida (a simple search for "find a member" would tell anyone this), how can she send invoices through ebay that show a payment address in New York?  When her buyers inquire about this (if they even think to do so) her answer is "I am away on vacation in New York", or "I just moved and my contact information has not been changed yet" etc.

I don't know about you, but I'd see a huge red flag if my seller shows registration in one state but asks for payment to be sent to another.  But I guess if you have money to blow, go ahead and send that $2000 money order and don't worry (of course she doesn't take PayPal...).  I'm sure it will all be fine.
