Hi Gang! Now before I get started I'd like to say this guide is not intended for pros. More over, this guide is intended to be of use to the novice Thimble Drome shoppers looking to buy some old timey Cox cars or planes to decorate thier house or possibly fly or run on some Saturday afternoon with thier Grandson or daughter.

With that in mind, I'll try my best at showing or explaining to you what most of us "thimble drome" junkies already know.

The bulk of it is Nylint cars. Nylint made some "exact" replicas of the world famous Cox Champion tether cars as well as MCoy,Dooling and others that DO NOT RUN. Rather, they are static models and are just capable of sitting on a shelf.

They look like the real thing. But, they are not. And, of course they are much cheaper. They usually sell for around 60 bux and if you buy one, you may or may not be able to get your money back out, should you decide to re-list it on Ebay or anywhere else.

If you want a real genuine Cox Champion, or Dooling or other tether car, expect to pay more than 60 bux for it! Also, if you are the only one bidding on it, that should give you a clue.

If it is much shinier or cleaner than the other cars, that would tip you off.

Also, most sellers of these cars are usually very honest. They state in thier ad that they are replicas

Remember some old adages. "If it's too good to be true, it usually isn't.

Or another one is "You get what you pay for".

Do your homework. Study the item carefully. Ask the ebayer questions.         Good Luck and God Bless all of us, Mikey
