Hello,

There are more auctions popping up selling the common 3 pint French Fluted Baker as a rare 2 pint baker. There is about a $130.00 difference between the two types of bakers.

I do think most of these sellers are making an honest mistake.

They pour 3 pints of water in them and the water is at the rim or slightly overfills. These fluted bakers were first created as souffle casseroles. Souffles rise as they bake, slightly above the rim.

The easiest tell is the rare 2 pint baker has 3 complete autumn flowers on the side - as where the common 3 pint baker has 2 complete autumn flowers and 1 partial.

Please see the pic below of a 2 pint baker...

Thank you for your time and Happy Hunting!!
