TRUE RELIGION AUTHENTICITY 2007 - part 2
TR Heritage line now has many many new styles. These feature a new elongated shaped horseshoe (lovingly referred to as the "boob" pocket on Authenticforum. lol), which is completely different from traditional horseshoes. These also have new buttons and rivets. Let's now compare real, and fake:

TRUE RELIGION AUTHENTICITY 2007 - part 2
**HERITAGE POCKETS**
TR Heritage line now has many many new styles. These feature a new elongated shaped horseshoe (lovingly referred to as the "boob" pocket on Authenticforum. lol), which is completely different from traditional horseshoes. These also have new buttons and rivets. Let's now compare real, and fake:
REAL FAKE!!!
Here we have a fake flap pocket version (Joey, Billy, etc) of the Heritage style.
- Note on the real pocket your good old standby gently CURVED "wings" (sideways top ends) on the horseshoe. Now look at Fakey McFakerson on the right. STRAIGHT wings. And way too short and stubby wings too.
- The fake pocket has a horseshoe WAY TOO THIN all around. Obvious fake boobs are not cool. lol
- As we saw in part 2, the fakers have an awfully hard time LINING UP the portion of the horseshoe on the pocket with the portion on the flap, and this one is pretty blatant. The whole thickness does not match at the junction.
- What's this? Someone fell asleep and forgot to put on the right buttons? Yup, the fake has the old style button, NOT the new Heritage button with the hole in the middle. Oops!
Here is another FAKE:
This one managed to put on the correct buttons, but has the same problems lining up the parts of the horseshoe, and still can't make the shape right. In addition, the 'leather' belt label is too small and clearly not leather. And why pray-tell is there no stitching on the left and right?
OK, now I'm going to try not to thoroughly confuse you (well I guess TR has already done that themselves).
Below are 2 pictures of non-flap pocket horseshoes, or horseshoes UNDERNEATH the flap. The first picture is of the EXACT pair as the real pair above, but with the flap opened up:

REAL REAL FAKE
FAIL!

REAL REAL FAKE
- As we can see - the real non-flap horseshoe has STRAIGHT wings! And short and stubby too. This does not EVER belong on a flap though. The flaps should have the gentle curve show above.
- The FAKE is too thin and too wide overall.
- The real wing should have side edges completely parallel to the edge of the pocket. Note the fake is NOT parallel. The stitched wing side should end exactly 1/8th of an inch from the side of the pocket. Note the fake is essentially ON the edge of the pocket with no space
FAIL!
**50's STYLE**
Next we have the brand new 50's group. These are designed to look like a Retro 50's type denim, worn in and rustic. They feature a rough horseshoe in a new look, and new pocket flap positioning, and yet MORE new hardware. Smooth rounded face rivets with NO writing on the front or back (just a hole on the back), buttons with the new True Religion script logo, and a new leather patch on the back pocket. And yep... they're faked already.

REAL FAKE
REAL FAKE
You would think that maybe the fakers could do this one pretty well since it is already designed to look like a 4th grader stitched it.... but NOPE!
- The pockets should be exact mirror images (look hard)
- The flap pocket should sit completely INSIDE the margins of the actual pocket, on both sides evenly. The left side of the flap on the fake is too far left.
- The horseshoe should still be a curved arc overall, but the fake still has a too-straight side on the outer edges (left of the left pocket and right of the right pocket) and too bulbous near the bottom
FAIL!

**PATCHES**
I will leave you with a sampling of the new leather patches for 2007. On the left are 2 womens pairs, and on the right 2 mens. Note that the bottom 2 patch types ARE NOT PERFECT RECTANGLES/not straight edges. Note on the upper right mens pair that THERE ARE NO NUMBERS in the new "Lot" and "W" (waist) areas. They are blank.
So, clear as mud?! A little time and a lot of eBay poking around will
have you seeing like the pros in no time and scoring the great deals!
