I have been selling Brighton on ebay for a number of years now. From my experience I have not come across "exact replicas" or "mirror images" of Brighton Handbags. Many Designers such as Louis Vitton, Gucci, Fendi, Marc Jacobs, have replicas that are very hard for the buyer to recognize. Most of these handbags replicas are made in China. Brighton on the other hand has "look a likes" that are not exactly the same but might have the same shape or might have similar heart shaped silver accents. These are pretty easy to recognize. Just check the label. I have not seen a "Fake Label" of Brighton yet.
I will tell you what to look for in a "Real Brighton."
If you are looking for a Brighton Leather Handbag check the interior for the Brighton label. The Brighton label is a leather patch that has a serial number on it, and the Brighton Creed.
If you are looking for a Brighton Straw Handbag check the interior for the Brighton label. This label is a little bit different. It does not have a serial number on it. It will say Brighton on it.
Brighton Handbags with "MARKED OUT LABELS"
You might also run into a Brighton Leather Handbag or Brighton Straw Handbag that has the serial number marked out. It will have a X on it or the number may be fully scratched out. These handbags are purchased from outlets. These handbags are usually overstocks or discontinued styles. The Brighton warehouse will mark these handbags so that people cannot buy the handbag from the outlet and then return it to a Brighton retail store for full price. These handbags are first quality besides the interior label having a mark.
The last thing I must bring to your attention is a Brighton "Second."
Brighton does sell seconds. A seller does not have to be a rocket scientist to figure out if it is a second. Brighton does the work for them.
They will tag it as a second. A seller should mention the flaw in the listing. They should also show pictures of the flaw.
When buying a Brighton handbag, it is always best to check the Sellers feedback, remember to ALWAYS ask questions.
