On March 31st 2008 a new policy came into effect on ebay regarding digital delivery and its future on ebay. What this means for buyers: A buyer can now contact utilize a classified ad to contact a seller on eBay and inquire about the products(s) offered for sale by the seller. The buyer then may receive an invoice from the seller to pay for the item immediately. Now while email delivery may still be a bit slower than receiving an instant download link via the ebay digital delivery system it is still a quick way to receive electronic goods. Before the ebay digital delivery system was put into place emailing was the only way to deliver such products.
Buyers can now find their favorite digital goods such as auction templates, digital scrapbooking, digital collage sheets,  digital patterns, & more in this new format.
Buying via a classified ad can be as safe as buying via auction. Simply check the sellers previous feedback & ask for a safe payment method such as paypal, etc.
What this means for sellers: A new opportunity to advertise your full product catalog in one ad listing. While many sellers may not be familiar with the classified ad format it is a good advertising tool & brings in good page rank in search engines. Key things to remember: Presentation, Pricing, Assurance to the buyer, & Interaction. Be sure to offer an attractive eye catching presentation for your product line. Offer competitive pricing. Assure the customer classified ads are a great outlet to purchase products. Make a strong impression on your interaction with the buyer who has contacted you via the classified ad.
Seller Alternatives to Classified Ads: If you are not comfortable with the classified ad format on eBay you are allowed to offer your digital products on cd. There are multiple ways to offer your product line on cd media. There are a number of companies who will produce cdroms with your content for reasonable costs or you can learn to produce your content on cd yourself. You will find all the supplies you need to creates your own cds right here on ebay. Things you will need: a cd burner, labels, mailers, cd sleeves, printer, printer ink.  If you do not have a cd burner already an external usb burner would be the wisest choice so you do not have to internally install it. All of the products you need to produce a cd media product are of reasonable cost so you do not have to invest a large amount of funds.
Multiple Techniques: You can choose to use both new methods of offering you digital products for more exposure. Having a classified ad & offering you products on cd will bring your eBay store the most traffic & increase the likelihood of sales.
