Wife and I were looking to purchase a new bed set Sunday. Cash in hand and we were not going to do any type of in store financing as like I mentioned we had the cash in hand. Art Van seems to run an advertisement on TV about every week on some sort of sale they are running. Hurry, buy now prices have never been so low, blah blah blah.... We went to Art Van and I do believe we jumped on (yes, we are in our early 40's and still act like kids sometimes) and tried several different beds until we found the one we liked. It was really comfortabale! Im guessing it took us about 15 minutes before someone finally came over and asked us if we had been helped yet. To make a very long story short, I told the salesman this was the bed we wanted and asked for him to give me the best price...... I also explained to him, I dont play games and we WERE there to purchase. After about 5 minutes he returns with the "Sales Manager" and she told us the price that was marked on the bed ($2,500.00) And thats just for the mattress and box springs (king size)! That DIDNT include a frame or a head board. I pollightly once again reminded her I was there to purchase and asked if ART VAN wanted to make a sale.... She said "why sure we want to make a sale, but this is the BEST price you are going to get" I told her Thank You for your time, but we will be going somewhere else that is willing to make us a deal. She made comment about getting the salesmans card.... I refused it. It is nice to know in these days and times that ART VAN is willing to turn down a $2,500.00 sale. We went to PARLINS FURNITURE and the salesman there made us a WONDERFULL deal on a mattress set that was just as comfortable as the one at Art Van's.... We are now sleeping on our new bed, and sleeping well...... Oh, and the savings....... We saved over $1,000.00 and he threw in a frame for us, and knocked 50% off the headboard. I can tell you all right now, I dont care if ART VAN has the most spectacular sale ever and are giving away furniture..... Ill NEVER set foot in their store again.
