Be very careful when considering purchasing autographs on EBay. There are a few honest autograph sellers on EBay, but far more are selling autographs that don't even look like the real signature.

Beware of those people listing signed trading cards for $7...... unless it is a large company like Metro Entertainment, who pays the actors to come to their store and sign in bulk, you aren't going to get an authentic autograph on a trading card for $7..... At most events, regardless of what is signed , autographs from Buffy stars will range for $20 to $45. 

So how can you be sure , or at least relatively so , that you are getting the real deal?  Deal with big agencies like Metro, or people who can authenticate their signatures with other documentation, such as pictures with the actors, and info on exactly when andwhere they were signed.  Beware of autographs that were not received at organized events. Contrary ti popular myth, most actors will not stop on the street and sign autographs. 

The safest way to collect autographs of course, is to purchase InkWorks autograph cards. At the very least keep a file of picures of these cards, to compare the signatures VERY carefully. And learn the tips. James Marsters lettering is crisp and sharp, if it has loops, or rounded edges , it is not James. Amber Benson NEVER signed her whole name..... Sarah Michelle Gellar rarely attends conventions, and her authentic autograph is very hard to come by. Again, an authentic trading card signed by SMG and James Marsters, is not going to sell on EBay for under $10 (if it is too good to be true...it is.)

E Bay has good guidlelines and recommendations. Be sure the dealer you are buying from is reputable. Stick with sellers who are true fans. There is a great Buffy community on E Bay!
