Comments on Our News Letters
Comment From Reader: I think I have read every news letter you have done. They gave me a better feel for what to expect & what to avoid doing a show booth. Thanks to all your good advice I did my first show and it was a great success! I put all your knowledge to use. The best idea was getting a credit card imprinter. My sales increased by 20% having that available.
Once again, thank you so much for all the good ideas and your great bead offerings!!
Comment From John: Your e-mail brings up two good points. The first is that it is important to make it easy for people to buy your products. Today many people do not carry cash or even a check book. Credit and debit cards account for a large percentage of all the sales made. If you are not able to provide the service of accepting cards, you are hurting your business.
One creative way that one of our readers accepted payment was with PayPal at a craft show. She took her laptop and with a wireless connection, she had her customers send a payment from their PayPal accoun to hers using her computer.
You can set up a merchant account through your bank or by searching onling for the term "merchant account." Be sure to check and compare all of the fees so that you get the best rate available. The amount that is charged varies with different providers.
The second thing that I want to mention about your e-mail is that you feel that you were successful at your show. This can be encouraging to others that may want to sell their jewelry but may be somewhat reluctant to try. Thank you for sharing your experiance.
