As a seasoned crafter and owner of 11 towers of Sizzix dies and 12 Sizzlit fonts; I hope this advice does someone some good.
ARE SIZZLITS FOR YOU?
You need to ask yourself 2 questions: 1) Do I like smaller letters? 2) Do I own a Sidekick?
1) If you can handle the small letters - as they are tricky for people with big hands or perhaps arthritis, then Sizzlits are GREAT for subtitles, accents etc on a page. They are the PERFECT size for cards. I recommend using tweezers...even if you are good at it, using them gives you MORE control. Also, invest in a Xyron 150 sticker maker (retail $9.99) - makes those small letters sticky QUICK and EASY.
2) In order to avoid damaging your Sizzix machine, invest NOW in a sidekick. I had my original machine for about a year and only had about 10 dies at the time. I had several Sizzlit dies and the converter and used it maybe 50 - 60 times with the converter. I started noticing it's "spring like action was not springing". A friend brought hers over, she'd had her since it came out and had NEVER used a converter on it. She had several alphabets and even her kids had used it..so her machine was WELLLLL used...yet, her's still had "spring". I called Ellison. I got an "unofficial" answer, "...prolonged used of the converter MAY cause damage to the machine." I was offered a repair if I shipped it in (I didn't because it was going to kill me in shipping). Now, the sidekick had not come out just yet, but it wasn't long that I noticed it on the market. I guess I wasn't the only one with this issue. SO BOTTOM LINE....if you get Sizzlit dies...get a SideKick...you WON'T regret it.
