First lets start with the Pictures of the Fakes out there right now.

******* HERE ARE THE MAIN COUNTERFEIT FAKE ARCTERYX ALPHA SV  IN ALL THERE SPLENDOR*******

Here are some helpful tips on how to spot  Arc'teryx fakes before you buy.

1. The seller originates in China, (ding, ding, ding) nothing against China but that is where most of the counterfeit clothing and sellers are coming from, (but not always) right now there are a lot sellers dumping a bunch of fakes out there.
1.a The new trick is to use a false origin. They are using CA. United States or US. United States or others as there location of origin and they offer Free Shipping. Look at what else the seller has listed, bunch of jersey's right but the shipping on the fake jersey's is $25 or $28 read the shipping description and you will see that the items are coming from overseas... and you will have to pay return certified shipping ($$$$$) to get your money back.
2. The seller has little or no feedback or 100% positive feedback but only as a buyer and 0 feedback as a seller, this is a big clue, if they do have feedback make sure and read it all, look for that 1 buyer that says they think they received a fake or counterfeit, most buyers just assume that the article is legit, I purchased 2 jackets from a seller that wasn't in China, had a very high feedback rating, with over one hundred positive feedback's and only 1 negative feedback stating the seller was selling fakes, there will almost always be a follow up from the seller stating what a liar or dead beat the buyer is for not paying or something to discredit the buyer and justify the negative feedback, I purchased the jacket and it was a pathetic fake, luckily I got my money back on this one, but not with out a fight.
3. The seller has no return policy listed or just a no returns policy listed.
4. The seller has multiple sizes listed and you are to pick the size you want at time of purchase. Huge Red Flag here, look at some of the big sellers auctions and you will never see multiple sizes listed, most Arc stuff sold on E-bay is last years model and a closeout, just go to the Arc website and see if the color is still listed or the product model name is still on the site.
5. The seller has little to no description of the product, no model name like Alpha, Theta, Gamma, Sidewinder, etcetera.
6. The seller will have some lame description to try and make you believe how honest they are like = "Hello dear friend, it was kept very well. With the perfect style, nice design, wonderful workmanship, it is in good condition, no crack and no chip. Look at the pictures you can see the shape is very well; It is really a rare item and worth collecting!!! So wonderful item . Bid with confidence! You will not regret! Please don't miss it ! It is most valued. I believe you are a finer buyer. If you know the value of my item. please bid my item. I have many other wonderful collect items on eBay. Please view my other items. If you have any question please tell me. please do not miss so better chance to get it. Enjoying your bidding!!!" Who are they kidding, it's a lie and they are an international thief!
7. The price is too good to be true, remember the old saying? it's very true on E-bay, an example right now is a seller from China selling a Sidewinder AR for $99 and free shipping from China, the jacket retails for $500 you can find it on the web for 20% to 30% off retail, my rule of thumb for buying on E-bay is to shoot for 40% to 50% off retail price, that's a smoking deal for last year model, 20% of retail (or less) and free shipping from China is a huge clue that the item listed is FAKE, think about it for a second if the price is below cost by a long shot, how are they making any money? Selling fakes, that's how.
7b. The new trick they are using is to drive up there own prices with the same bidder bidding on all sizes, just look at the Arc Alpha sv jackets out there and then go to view seller's other items look at each size of the fake sv and then the bidding history and once the price gets over $100 or so you will see the same bidder on each size, not to many of us need a small and a xxl, it seems like they are trying to make there fakes look legit by driving the price up.... There still fakes.
8. If there is a description it's usually just copied straight from the Arc website along with the sizing chart and picture. This tip is iffy to me because I have bought many items with this kind of description, but the seller was only selling one item at a time. But if the seller uses the stock arc description and one like tip 6 and the item originates in China it’s a pretty safe bet it’s a Fake.
9. Ask the seller to send you some pictures of the item, make sure to ask for pictures of the tag and zippers, if the item is advertised as Gore-Tex, the legitimate Arc tag will show what type of gore-tex (Pro Shell, XCR, Packlite, Soft-shell, Windstopper) if it just say's Gore-Tex it's a counterfeit tag, Arc uses only YKK zippers, (at least on the over 50 Arc'teryx items that I own) even on there long underwear, if it's not YKK zipper it's a fake, you can also tell by the pull tabs, compare to the Arc website. Know the difference between a picture stolen from the website and one taken from a camera. Odds are that if you ask for the pictures of these items you won't get them anyway. Fake. Please don't ask the seller if the item is authentic or the real thing, (I see this time and time again) what do you think they are going to say? remember we are dealing with international thieves here, ask for pictures if you get no reply it's a Fake.
10. The listing is usually just a two day listing, I have seen longer listings and a lot of legitimate sellers only do two day listing so this is another iffy tip to be used in conjunction with the other tips, but I do believe that the China boy's want to get in, rob you and get out as quickly as they can, then when you file a dispute they will no longer be a registered seller on e-bay and you are out your money.

**** If three or more of the ten tips are true or if tip number one is true, (tip number one is the most important tip with tip number two a close second) the odds are pretty good that you are about to bid on or buy a Counterfeit - Fake article of Arc'teryx clothing.****

Here is one last helpful hint, never let the time to file a dispute expire, no matter what the seller say's, no matter how good the excuse is and remember the time frame to file a dispute with PayPal in less then the E-bay time frame. Here's how I got taken, I purchased two arc jackets from outdoorgear46 who I believed to be a honest seller, I had purchased some other items from her but this time she gave me excuse after excuse like, E-bay did a automatic relisting of the item and that she would have more of the same item that I won (and paid for) in stock in a few weeks, so I waited and waited and when I contacted her again she said that she had given me a refund, wrong, I sent her my pay pal statement and the next day she was no longer a registered e-bay user and I am out $550, thanks Donna. Yes it's my own fault and yes I'm an idiot. Please learn from my mistake.

If you think that you might have received a fake or counterfeit, check the seams, the zippers, the tags against a retail version of the item at an outdoor store or contact Arc'teryx and give them a description of your jacket. If you think it might be a fake, please file a dispute as soon as possible and contact e-bay support by phone and report it. Don't settle for a Fake, it will not perform like the genuine article.
What ever you do don't try to resell it back on E-bay just because you got taken, selling counterfeit anything is a crime with steep penalties.

I hope that these tips helps some one out there, remember it's easier to just not buy the counterfeit - fake, then it is to get your money back and have to pay shipping to return the item to China.
I do my best to report the sellers of counterfeit Arc'teryx to E-bay but it's rare that the listing are removed, which is a "shame on you E-bay" and if they do remove the seller they just opens up shop under a new name and start all over again.

The information in this guild is just an opinion based upon my experience as a Arc'teryx junkie, I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.
