I have been shipping glassware & other items for over 5 years, and due to the very high cost of the packing materials,  have had to look for ways of getting them cheaper or free.  There are many resources out there.  You just need to know where to look.

One place that I have found to be invaluable for bubble wrap, is a local RV Sales & Service Center.  They have bubble wrap that comes with the parts that they order in for the RV's.  The best is the bubble wrap that comes with the siding for the RV's.  These are perforated, approximately 18" wide and 35' long.  Stop in and talk to the parts department.  I never have to buy bubble wrap!!  They also are a good source for some packing peanuts.

There is a worldwide group called Freecycle, that you can join.  Go online and type in Freecycle and your city.  You will recieve a couple of emails a day, with things that people are giving away free!  You can post things that you are looking for on here also!  I have posted the need for packing peanuts, and received several replies.  You can find everything from boxes, packing peanuts and bubble wrap on these groups.  By doing this, you are also helping the environment by recycling these products.

Most grocery stores with have a specific spot, where they put out the good boxes for customers to take free of charge.  Speak to the store manager, and find out what day and time they put the boxes out.  They are happy to be of help, especially if you are a regular customer. 

Talk to your family, friends and neighbors too! Ask them to save these items for you when they receive something in the mail.  You will be surprised at how many are happy to help! 

Just remember that the more of these supplies you can get free, the more profit you make on your sales!
