Aqua Teen Hunger Force from Adult Swim
The members of Aqua Teen Hunger Force are not your typical cartoon characters. They are not cute or cuddly, they don't say endearing things, and they don't have conventional superpowers. In fact, despite the title, they aren't particularly associated with water, and they aren't even teenagers. Instead, they are a team of animated fast-food items who live in New Jersey.
Created by Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis, the Aqua Teen Hunger Force main characters include the ill-tempered Master Shake, a pistachio milkshake represented by a white cup with little yellow hands. Master Shake enjoys ganging up on the hapless Meatwad, another main character represented by a blob of reddish meat. Deemed unfit for human consumption, Meatwad can morph into different items by changing his shape.
The team is rounded out by Frylock, a box of french fries with a goatee and braces. Frylock is fairly intelligent, and can move either by using his fries as arms and legs or simply by floating from place to place. He can shoot lasers, fireballs, and other items, and he often tries to prevent Master Shake from being cruel to Meatwad. Other characters from the series include Carl Brutananadilewski, a loser who lives next door, and Dr. Weird, a mad scientist.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force first ran in December of 2000 on Cartoon Network. The show is part of the network's "Adult Swim" programming, which consists of cartoons aimed at a mature audience. The voices for the main characters include Carey Means (Frylock), Dana Snyder (Master Shake), and Dave Willis (Meatlock). Past seasons of the series are currently available on DVD.
