Like many you know, I also own an Iphone.

I think it's the greatest thing ever (as much as I hate Ipod and apple), so here is my point of view for the new IPhones coming out (having owned 2 already).

Let's start with CONS:

In general Apple stinks, it's a company which should be put out of business.

Only apple can take a God given tool as the IPhone and ruin it by limiting user control over it and scamming us out of 99 cent per song and ring tones. Apple also made the first generation low level GSMs so they don't work all over the world...that's going to come later after apple steals more of our money for phone upgrades and downloads.

Other then the fact that the Iphone is an apple, the only other problem it has is a short battery life. If you watch video, it will eat it up like nothing. So, if you're traveling, get a hand held instant charger and enjoy the ride.

On another note, the calender alarm is a bit weak too but that's nothing serious.

PROS:

The Iphone, as limited as it can be for customizing, is one of the greatest tools I have ever used.

The email function is awesome, the weather & stocks great! The design is cool, the music & video quality are amazing, people dig it and it already paid for itself with its unlimited internet and usefulness.

There are also a few good softwares out there which can help you crack the ringtones (efiko) and the rest of the functions (which I havn't done yet)...So there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

CONCLUSION:

Buy yourself an Iphone, an 8 Gig or 16 Gig for now. You can be sure there's an update around the corner. Apple is known for dirty deeds and not giving a ^&%$# about us end users. For me it was worth it to give up some control in order to have this phone...But I do keep my overseas lines active and working b/c you can never trust a company like apple.
