Well, this is from my own experience.

I & my GF have MP3 players, one is a larger IPOD 4gig and the other is a Sandisk Sansa 4 gig.

From our experience, the Sandisk Sansa kills the IPod on almost any level.

The Ipod is so clumsy and a pain to use/operate.

The sansa is so easy to use and so much easier to carry around. Plus for the Sansa you have the SD expansion slot which kills any IPod b/c it's easy to upgrade while our IPod stays a terrible 4gig IPod. (maybe I'll get rid of it soon).

It's so much easier to upload and view movies on the Sansa while everything about the IPod is a hasstle.

The only thing I give IPod is the marketing part, IPod is all over the place especially in Japan.
When I was in Japan in March, I could not find parts. Even in the US it was had to find the fun parts and upgrades, but I would still buy a Sansa anytime instead of another IPod....My IPod days are over.
