FAKES, MORE FAKES AND OVERPRICED FAKE ANYA HINDMARCH "I'M NOT A PLASTIC BAG" RIGHT HERE ON EBAY! 99.9% OF THE BAGS ON EBAY ARE FAKE!!! I DID A QUICK SCAN OF 25 BAGS AND THEY WERE ALL FAKE!!!!! I FURTHER CHECKED ALL THE BAGS LISTED ON EBAY AND THE NEWS IS NOT GOOD. ALL OF THE LAVENDER, GREEN, GRAY AND BROWN BAGS CURRENTLY LISTED ON EBAY ARE FAKE. FAKES ARE MADE BY SLAVE LABOR.  BID FOR ALL OF THESE BAGS ON EBAY WITH EXTREME CAUTION. EBAY IS THE CENTER FOR KNOCK-OFFS BEING SOLD AS AUTHENTIC..THE NUMBER OF KNOCK-OFFS ON EBAY IN ALL AREAS IS OUT OF CONTROL!!!!!  This guide will hopefully help you to spot "red flags" so you will not be ripped off and to help you make an informed decision before you bid.  I was scammed and I'm trying to help others avoid the traps I fell into. I do not work for Anya Hindmarch nor do I sell her products. This is my lessons learned guide. Shop wisely. 

The authentic Anya Hindmarch bag with the exception of the lavender bag retailed for about $15.00.  The lavender bag retailed for $150.00.  However prices for the authentic bags have increased significantly in value. Some shipping charges are outrageous.  High prices for the authentic bags are based on current market value and demand.  If you are buying this bag as an investment think about what the market will realisticly bear for resale. There are a lot of unknowns.  However, be smart and comparison shop for the best deal on an authentic bag. 

HIGH PRICES DO NOT GUARANTEE THEY ARE AUTHENTIC! Sellers of fakes are attempting to make about 10x the original price. FAKES COST A SELLER ABOUT $6.00. Shipping rates are anywhere from $15.00-40.00. This is a scam! Shipping in the US is about $7.00 and international about $18.00 for this bag. This is how the scammers are selling their fakes for a starting bid of 99 cents. This bag is made in China of heavy canvas for Anya Hindmarch, a London designer. The bag was designed to raise awareness about the ecological problems associated with the use of plastic bags.  I commend Ms. Hindmarch for this. HOWEVER, BUYER BEWARE!!!!!  EBAY IS MAKING MONEY OFF OF PIRATED PRODUCTS. IF YOU CHOOSE TO BUY A BAG USE CAUTION AND BE INFORMED. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID! WHAT IS THE RETURN POLICY? I GOT BURNED HERE.  I PURCHASED A BAG FROM AKTMAX 7 AND THE BAG IS FALLING APART. HE INSISTS IT IS AUTHENTIC AND REFUSES TO ALLOW ME TO RETURN IT.  $91.00 DOWN THE DRAIN! SELLERS WHO OFFER FULL REFUND WITH NO QUESTIONS ASKED IS ALSO A RED FLAG.  THEY WILL TAKE BACK ANYTHING TO AVOID NEGATIVE FEEDBACK.  THEY WANT TO CONTINUE TO SELL THEIR FAKES.  PEPRMINTPATTY57 SOLD FAKE BAGS SHE PURCHASED FROM ANOTHER EBAY SELLER. NO RECEIPT EXCEPT AN EBAY BILL OF SALE.

IF THEY DID NOT PURCHASE IT FROM AN "AUTHORIZED" ANYA HINDMARCH OUTLET SUCH AS WHOLE FOODS....IT'S A FAKE!!!!  WOULD THE SELLER BE WILLING TO SEND THE RECEIPT? IS THE BAG BEING SHIPPED FROM CHINA? SOME SELLERS WHO ARE LOCATED IN THE US ARE HAVING THEIR BAGS SHIPPED FROM CHINA AND GUESS WHAT..THEY ARE FAKE!!!!! GET SMART ON WHAT AN AUTHENTIC BAG LOOKS LIKE BY READING THE EBAY GUIDES BY CHRISTI, ANDREWUK AND CHECKING THE WE ARE WHAT WE DO WEBSITE. Additionally, some of these sellers listing fakes are power sellers with great reputations. Power seller means absolutely nothing. It means they have sold $1,000 in sales per month.  SELLERS WITH 100% FEEDBACK ARE SELLING FAKES..GO FIGURE! THEY ARE DEPENDING ON BUYERS TO BE STUPID AND UNIFORMED...The sellers who knowingly sell fakes are out for the quick buck. A number of these sellers are angry because they have been listed as selling suspected fakes.  They have contacted me, made threats and of course voted against my guide.   However, I think it is very important to alert buyers and hopefully help you to avoid getting ripped off. In my small way I'm doing what I can to protect trusting buyers from these diseased maniacs and their fake merchandise.

THEY ARE LEGITIMIZING FAKES AND THOSE WHO SELL THEM. Some sellers are using stock OR STOLEN pictures. IF THE SELLER IS USING A STOCK PICTURE DO NOT BID!!! STOCK PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE ALL OVER THE INTERNET. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING.   THIS IS CALLED BAIT AND SWITCH. ALSO SELLERS WHO ARE SELLING FAKES ARE USING WHOLE FOOD BAGS AND OTHER WE ARE WHAT WE DO ITEMS TO TRY AND FOOL YOU. If a seller has a lot of bags for sale AND NO RECEIPT they are fakes. ALSO CHECK WHAT ELSE THE SELLER IS SELLING...LOTS OF BAGS....THEY ARE FAKE!  RETAIL OUTLETS SUCH AS WHOLE FOODS LIMITED THE NUMBER OF BAGS A PERSON COULD PURCHASE TO 1-3... IF A SELLER HAS MORE THAN THAT AVAILABLE..THEY ARE FAKE!!!! WHOLE FOODS DOES NOT SHIP BAGS..IF THE AD SAYS THEY HAD THEIR BAG SHIPPED FROM WHOLE FOODS...IT IS  A FAKE..BUYER BEWARE!!!

FAKES ARE AVAILABLE ALL OVER THE INTERNET DIRECT FROM CHINA FROM COMPANIES LIKE TRADEKEY. DISHONEST SELLERS HAVE BOUGHT IN BULK AND ARE TRYING TO UNLOAD THIS DUNG ON EBAY USING WORDS LIKE 100% AUTHENTIC OR BRAND NEW WITH TAGS...THESE PEOPLE WANT YOUR MONEY AND ARE NOT CONCERNED ABOUT REPEAT BUSINESS! UNFORTUNATELY EBAY WILL NOT PROTECT YOU. SO GET INFORMED BEFORE YOU BUY.

Here are some things to consider: Buy a fake bag and help fund a terrorist. A great deal of the profits from the piracy industry funds terrorism and organized crime around the world. DARNJ SOLD HIS FAKE BAG WITH THE HELP OF HIS FAKE RECEIPT FOR $117.50. SELLER KPBLEACH4KKC SOLD A RECEIPT FROM WHOLE FOODS FOR  BIN$145 OR BEST OFFER. BE AWARE THERE ARE SELLERS WHO HAVE SOLD THEIR RECEIPTS TO THOSE SELLING KNOCK-OFFS.  

SCAM ALERT: SOME SELLERS OF FAKE BAGS ARE DOING A ONE DAY LISTING. THEY KNOW IT TAKES EBAY ABOUT 24 HOURS TO RESPOND TO LISTINGS THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED AS COUNTERFEIT. THE IDEA IS TO SELL THEIR FAKES BEFORE EBAY CAN REMOVE THE LISTING.  PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE ONE DAY LISTINGS.

SCAM ALERT: THE SCAMMERS ARE ALSO CHANGING THEIR USER ID'S BECAUSE THE WORD IS GETTING OUT THEY SELL FAKES!  LOOK FOR THE CHANGE SYMBOL NEXT TO THE USER ID TO TRACK THE SELLER'S HISTORY. THE SCAMMERS ALSO OPERATE UNDER MULTIPLE USER ID'S ALLOWED BY EBAY.     

SCAM ALERT:  CHECK HOW LONG THE SELLER HAS BEEN A MEMBER OF EBAY. SHORT TIME AND LOTS OF BAGS..THE SELLER HAS LOTS OF FAKES.

CHECK THE RECEIPT CLOSELY.  IF THE RECEIPT SAYS PURCHASED IN ONE AREA AND THE SELLER IS LOCATED FAR FROM WHERE THE ITEM WAS PURCHASED..GOOD CHANCE THE BAG IS A FAKE AND THE RECEIPT PICTURE MAY HAVE BEEN STOLEN FROM ANOTHER SELLER. ALSO I HAVE NOTICED SELLERS STEALING PICTURES OF AUTHENTIC BAGS TO SELL THEIR KNOCK-OFFS. THE THEFT OF THE AUTHENTIC LAVENDER BAG PICTURES TO SELL THE FAKES IS EPIDEMIC!

Super Ebay guides by christid2303 and andrewuk1978 have pictures of the fakes. Check it out! Also there may be some buyers who don't mind buying fakes. Remember when you knowingly buy a counterfeit product you are helping those who stole designs, music, movies etc.. from a legitimate company or artist and promoting unfair labor practices. THE PEOPLE WHO KNOWINGLY SELL KNOCK-OFFS ARE CRIMINALS! THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD AND THEY ARE THIEVES.... PLUS THEY ARE SUPPORTING SLAVE AND CHILD LABOR. FAKE BAGS ARE MADE BY REAL KIDS!

CHANCES ARE VERY GREAT THAT THE SCAMMERS WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CONTACT THEM WHEN YOU REALIZE YOU HAVE PURCHASED A FAKE BAG AND TRY AND FILE A CLAIM.  THE CRIMINALS WILL CLOSE THEIR ACCOUNT AND PAYPAL WILL ONLY REFUND A PORTION OF YOUR MONEY.  A NUMBER OF SELLERS WHO HAVE SOLD FAKE BAGS ARE NO LONGER REGISTERED USERS.

 There were only FIVE colors made: NAVY BLUE, DARK GREEN, DARK GRAY, CHOCOLATE BROWN AND LAVENDER trim with beige/cream canvas. Not pink, lime green, red, purple, black, baby blue, or pearl gray....THESE ARE ALL FAKE!!!  Lavender is the most rare. ONLY 200 WERE MADE WORLDWIDE! ALL LAVENDER BAGS CURRENTLY LISTED ON EBAY ARE FAKES!!!! THE AUTHENTIC BAG RETAILED FOR $150.00..SO THE SELLERS WHO SELL IT FOR LESS ARE SELLING FAKES...The bag also has an additional tag sewn on the bag which states "Supporting Lavender Trust" the words are sewn in lavender thread and red letters underneath stating the trust supports a breast cancer foundation on the bag. The Lavender Trust is a breast cancer charity. Fake tags are popping up that are NOT sewn with lavender thread. The fake tags have letters which are sewn in BLUE.  Plus the the tail of the "d" in the logo "we are what we do" is higher than the tail of the "h." Annalee9445 and limitedseller SOLD  these bags complete with fake tags. THE ONLY SELLER  WHO HAD AN AUTHENTIC LAVENDER BAG IS LUCY728.  LUCY728 HAD  HER SITE PICTURES STOLEN BY THE KNOCK-OFF SELLERS AND IT IS ALL OVER EBAY!  THE AUTHENTIC LAVENDER BAGS DO NOT HAVE A TAG ATTACHED TO THE BAG HANDLE.

I also saw a bidder pay $115.00 for a fake lavender bag sold by 123kalor and another paid $280.00 for a fake lavender bag sold by limitedseller. Annalee9445 sold a fake lavender bag for  $150.00  Poor buyer thinks it's legit. Fashionaddict1082 sold a fake lavender bag for $127.50.  cj55415 sold  a fake lavender for $72.00..refused to answer any questions about the bag. How do these sellers sleep?

The fakes also have zippers and an inside pocket and brass instead of chrome gromments on the tote for the rope handles. Plus the authentic bags have rope handles that are short and thick..not long.  The handles are about 5" long. Closely check the font of the logo "we are what we do" and the lettering on the front of the bag. If it appears frayed and is not clear and sharp..it is a fake! Check the AH logo. It should be thin and well defined.  Christi's review has great pictures that will help. The color of the tote's canvas is light BEIGE/CREAM NOT WHITE. The fake bags also have a darker canvas color than the legitimate bags. Real dimensions are APPROXIMATELY 13x12.5x7.5 inches.

The worst offenders are coming out of NY, CA, GA, FL, Ohio,  UK,  Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Taiwan, China, Singapore and Hong Kong. Personally, I would not buy any bag from a seller of the last EIGHT due to the lack of prosecution of those manufacturing and selling pirated products. BASED ON WHAT I HAVE SEEN ALL BAGS WHERE THE SELLER IS IN CHINA, SINGAPORE, THAILAND, TAIWAN, HONG KONG, CANADA, NEW ZEALAND, OR AUSTRALIA IS SELLING A FAKE. NO KIDDING!!!!  SELLERS FROM CHINA AND AUSTRALIA ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST OFFENDERS!!! RECOMMEND USING EXTREME CAUTION BEFORE YOU BID!   

SCAM ALERT: SELLERS FROM OUTSIDE THE US ARE USING 00, GG, DDDD, UNITED STATES OR 2007, WWI UNITED STATES AS THE "ITEM LOCATION." IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE LOCATION AS BEING IN THE US, IT PROBABLY ISN'T! BE VERY AWARE THIS IS A SCAM TO FOOL YOU INTO THINKING THE ITEM IS LOCATED IN THE US AND NOT OVERSEAS! HOWEVER, ITEM LOCATION IN THE US DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE BAG IS AUTHENTIC. LOTS OF FAKES ARE LISTED WITH US LOCATIONS. 

SCAM ALERT: A BUYER WHO WAS JUST RIPPED OFF WHEN PURCHASING AN "AUTHENTIC" BAG NOTIFIED ME THAT THE NEW SCAM IS ALTHOUGH THE SELLER IS NOT LOCATED IN CHINA WHEN YOU RETURN YOUR BAG YOU HAVE TO RETURN IT TO CHINA!!!!! MUCH HIGHER SHIPPING COSTS THAN WHAT WAS ALREADY PAID!!!!

Just because it has a tag does not make it authentic. I have also seen knock-off tags on the knock-off bags. AUTHENTIC LAVANDER BAGS DO NOT HAVE TAGS!!   

REMEMBER WHEN IT COMES TO MONEY DISHONEST PEOPLE LIE..A LOT.....

If the seller will not send THE RECEIPT AND DID NOT PURCHASE THE BAG FROM AN AUTHORIZED ANYA HINDMARCH SOURCE SUCH AS WHOLE FOODS OR WE ARE WHAT WE DO AND CAN PROVE IT..DO NOT BID....move on and bid on another bag. IF THE BAG IS WRAPPED IN PLASTIC IT IS A FAKE! THINK ABOUT IT..ANYA HAS LAUNCHED A CRUSADE AGAINST PLASTIC BAGS..AND THEN SHE WRAPS HER BAGS IN PLASTIC!  NOT!!!!! 

If the bag is a knock-off report the seller by clicking on the HELP icon, listing violations, copyright infringement, counterfeit handbags and contact us. Ebay will ask you for the item number. Ebay depends on its customers to help keep the trading environment safe and more pressure needs to be put on Ebay to remove counterfeit listings. However, Ebay does very little to police their site. They claim that they are "not experts" and their job is to bring buyers and sellers together. This is a crock. They make money off of pirated products everyday.  Ebay is a huge flea market. So how much trust would you place in a flea market vendor to sell legitimate items?  Trust but verify and put more pressure on Ebay by reporting the fakes. Ebay is currently being sued by companies such as Tiffanys and Microsoft because they allow fakes to be sold using those companies names.
