OK, so you already know that eBay is the biggest (and most profitable) recycling center on earth.  GREAT!  Did you know that eBay can help you and your family live a more ecologically friendly life too?  It is true – you can use eBay to be more “Green” than ever before.  Whether you panic or ignore them, the pundits are hammering hard on the issue of “Global Warming,” and for very good reason.  Even if we stop in our tracks with our regular lifestyles, it would be decades before the positive effect could be felt.  All human activities contribute (in large and small  ways) to the ecological problems we face today.  Those ecological problems will affect us and will be our legacy for our children and grandchildren, too.  And yet, there are simple ways to make more of a difference every day.

To buy in the “Gently Used” or “Vintage” clothing market on eBay is to be more Green and to save lots of cash, too.  Believe it or not, buying gently used clothing for yourself and your family makes “Green” sense on many levels.  When we buy new clothing at the mall, we pay in currency AND in all the CO2 emissions it took to harvest and process the raw materials, manufacture and distribute the goods and even the emissions made when you went to the mall to get the items!

So, before you purchase new, please consider the following….According to a recent issue of Time Magazine, buying garments the second time around means you are dodging consumption of all the energy used in producing, shipping and handling a new item (and all the carbon emissions associated with these activities).  Growing cotton is accomplished on less than 3% of arable land, and yet, the cotton crop accounts for ¼ the pesticides used in farming today!  Some textiles are formed from petroleum products, making them less eco-friendly and more expensive to produce.  The manufacture of such textiles is just more competition for non-renewable resources (oil) too.  When we consume only new items the ecological costs are in play, reused or recyle anything and they are not.  A VERY easy and positive way to be “Greener.”.

I hope you will have time to drop by my auctions (Pepper120851) where I offer the best gently used clothing for remarkable deals!  Try my eBay store (The Write Place) where you name the price you pay every day!  Yes I DO combine ship!  My goal is to offer you the top notch customer care YOU deserve and I guarantee your satisfaction!
