2005                  2007                  2008

Never heard of Anderson? Well, you won't forget it after you use their award worthy RockeTech bat.  The RockeTech is one of the hottest bats to have in fastpitch softball, today, and is known for it's unbelievable *POP*!  I've YET to meet a player who didn't LOVE it.  If you're a rotational hitter, and haven't ever hit a homerun before, GET READY!! This bat goes the distance.....better than any full comp we've ever tried.  A valuable investment that's worth every penny.  PLEASE don't forget to scroll down all the way and click YES! that you love fastpitch softball.  Thanks!

~2009~

~2004~ Shown Further Below!!

I'm going to share my experience and opinion of RockeTech, describe it, and compare it to other popular bats.  I'll also tell you the difference between a 2007 and 2008.  Appropriate pricing, warranty information, and details about what's available are in this Review, as well.

2004's & 2005's ARE Legal in ASA Championship play!! (and all other sanctions) I've kept my eye on the approved list, and as of Dec. 26th 2008 they are both on there.  As a matter of fact, the original 2004 (with a 2000 ASA stamp) was just ADDED to the approved list in the spring of 2008.  Print the list from the ASA sight to carry proof with you for all those nay-sayers out there, including umpires!!

My daughter also has an Easton Stealth Composite and Schutt Crystl Bustos Composite, as well as the RockeTech.  The RockeTech is by far her favorite.  This is the "big girl bat" every aspiring player should have in their bag.  Throw out the toothpicks!  If you wanna be a POWER HITTER, this is the bat to buy!

The Easton Stealth's weight is evenly distributed throughout the bat, making it feel heavier than a RockeTech with the same length, weight, and drop ratio.  The Anderson RockeTech's weight is loaded at the end of the bat, giving a better whipping action and making the bat feel lighter than a Stealth.  For example, my daughter had both in a 31"/22oz., drop -9.  She could swing the RockeTech much, MUCH faster.  I also want to mention another bat...the newest Demarini.  While it does have a lot of pop, it just doesn't have the durability of the Rocketech in my opinion.  A girl we know (D1 scholarship for 2011) smashed it within one month of using it.  Totally dented & cracked open...it was bad.  Yes, DeMarini offers a 1 year warranty, however, they did not replace this player's bat for unexplicable reasons.  They claimed she must have "abused" it!  Consider this when making a near $300 investment.

AMAZING Pop.  Larger Sweet Spot than most comps out there.  Go DEEP with the RockeTech.  You WON'T regret it!

2009 Fastpitch Rocketech:

Available in same lengths/weights as all Rocketechs.  Drop 9. (-9)  Pop sounds more like a 2008.  The 2007 and 2005 have a different pop sounds of their own.  Daughter loves it, but now that she has a 2005, she prefers it instead.  You can NOT go wrong purchasing any year/make of Anderson's Rocketechs.  One thing I will say is that the paint on the 2008's and 2009's comes off fairly easy where the barrel blends with the stem.  Doesn't effect performance, but I do prefer the way the 07's, 05's, & 04's are painted.  Haven't met a player yet that cares about bat beauty...just PERFORMANCE!! Thought I would mention it, though, since this is a complete review.  On the other hand, the endcaps of the 2009's/2008's/2007's are superior to the first two years (2004's, 2005's).  No pins to worry about loosening.

There is just NO question about the fact that balls scream off of this bat.  You hit a ball with an aluminum (tink!) bat and it doesn't go near as far.  Full composites come close, but not as good as the Rocketechs in my opinion.  The 2009 launches them.  Line drives whizz to the outfield instead of fizzling out.  The advanced vibration reductions system takes the sting out of hits that are accidentally too close to the stem.  I just can't rave about Anderson enough...they've MASTERED their creations.  Gorgeous bat, I must say, with performance to match!  This would be the perfect model (or a 2008) for new Rocketech buyers.  Remember, these are end-loaded and feel different than a bat that has even weight distribution.

I'm a firm believer that Rocketechs are the absolute best that money can buy.  That's why we have 5 of them! :)  I'm seeing bats climb near $400 with other brands, while Anderson's Rocketechs are staying at $275 in stores and significantly less on eBay.  You can get an 09 brand new with warranty and dealer receipt for anywhere from $200 to $240 INCLUDING shipping and NO tax.  Why?  Because real dealers would rather sell 50 for less profit, than a dozen in their store for full profit.  I've never had a bad experience on eBay....just be sure to inquire about dealer receipts to make sure the warranty will be valid.  Ebay receipts don't count.  No fear with this investment....BUY A ROCKETECH!!

2008 Fastpitch  Description:

Before I get technical, let me just say that the 2008 is very close to the 2005 when judging the "pop".  The 2005 is commonly referred to as the best bat.  There are a few reasons why, but you will NOT be shortchanging yourself with a 2008.  Anderson must have heard all the rumors, because in my opinion, the 2008 is very similar to the 2005 when judging overall performance.  This bat is the culmination of all the things we love about RockeTech AND THEN SOME!!  The very first time my daughter used the 2008, my husband and I looked at each other, like "What?" in AMAZEMENT.  The "pop" sounds distinctly different than the 2007.  It's closer to the 2005!!!  Massive sweet spot zone~~it's the majority of the barrel~~even within an inch or two of the endcap!  When you add in the other improvements, this is the SAWEETEST BAT YOU COULD OWN that is currently being sold compared to other companies out there.  Forget the Catalyst and Stealth!  My daughter only reverts to her '07 when facing a better pitcher because it is an ounce lighter than her '08.  The 2008's beauty is NOT only skin deep with it's new smooooooth coating and graphics.  It's what's on the inside that counts.  Let me tell you, you will be counting A LOT with this one.  Counting hit after hit after hit!!  Now, for the details:

Following the success of Anderson's past models, the 2008 FP RockeTech is already getting rave reviews.  Features a new Bullet Proof Cap and new Heat Transfer/Polyurethane Coating graphics.  It has a great grip thanks to an Ultra-Thin Whip Handle and Weld-less Ergonomic Knob.  Together they provide the perfect amount of flexibility and gives the hitter superior feel and performance.  There is no need to worry about stinging because the Taper Flex Technology focuses the vibration into the collision between the bat and ball.  Anderson's new Groove Optimized System around the end of the barrel, new Lexan* Bullet Proof Cap and Power Arch Technology combine to create a wider sweet spot, resulting in an optimal trampoline effect and increased performance.  So, reach for the stars because your shots are going to be launched, just like a ROCKET!

  • New Groove Optimized System
  • New Bullet Proof Cap
  • External Multi-Wall Design
  • End loaded, -9 Swing Weight
  • Approved for ALL Associations, including ASA
  • Whip Handle
  • 1 Year Warranty

The exclusive Groove Optimized System strengthens the flex point of the barrel and increases performance while improving feel.  Bullet Proof End Cap is the toughest in the game and improves performance by allowing the barrel to flex both wider and deeper.  Patented external sleeve Power Arch Technology is what makes the RockeTech a high performing bat.

2007 Fastpitch RockeTech

This was the first model my husband and I purchased for our daughter.  When my daughter joined Team Indiana Fastpitch Softball, an elite travel program based out of Indianapolis Indiana,  we were told about the RockeTech.  Once we put it in her hands, she wouldn't put it down.  The Easton Stealth never saw daylight again.  Now that the 08's and 09's are out, I'm seeing a rise in price of both New (hard to find) and Used 2007's.  It is overall closer to the originals, though the pop sounds different.  It's hard for me to say which is THE best, because my daughter loves them all for different reasons.

The endcap is called a Groove Optimized Power Ring Cap.  The 2007 cap is different from both the 2005 and the 2008 Bullet Proof Cap.  No pins, like the 2005 & 2004.  No color blue on this bat....just silver, red, and black.

                                                           -9 "Drop Nine" available in:

34"/25oz, 33"/24oz., 32"/23oz., 31"/22oz., 30"/21oz.

2005 Fastpitch RockeTech

The 2005 Fastpitch RockeTech is arguably the best bat ever made.  I've read and heard that the '05 is better than the more recent versions.  I suspect there is truth to the "rumor", because it often sells on eBay for over $150 USED, and over $300 New!  We own the 2007 and 2008 and can't imagine any bat being better.  That being said, I'd snag one in a heartbeat if the right auction, size, & price comes along!  Don't let this info stop you from buying an 07 or 08......this just lets you know that there are SUPERB "genes" in the RockeTech "family".  Update 1/05/09:  I just bought one of these, also, and will be following up with my personal opinion and review.  ASA legal and on the approved list!

Update! Update! Update!....We have two of these now! The 32", 23oz and the 33", 24oz.  All the talk is TRUE!  We bought two...one is used most of the time (the 33...scored it new in the wrapper) and the 32" is brought out for super speedy pitchers.  Seems to be even more end-loaded than the more recent years.  My daughter is a rotational hitter with regular screaming drives to the fence, etc.  This 2005 has garnered her a grand slam and 3 homeruns so far this season and it's just begun pretty much!  This bat is for advanced players with strength who don't mind making an even larger investment.  If your daughter is dedicated, does a lot of tee work on her own, is passionate about the game and wants to excel to college & potentially beyond, REWARD that drive with one of these.  If your daughter is just playing, and only doing what is required of her without extra initiative of her own; I suggest a more recent version.  I don't regret one penny I've ever spent on Rocketechs for her.  ESPECIALLY these 2005's!!  Yep, it's the best ever! I put my stamp of approval on that, for whatever it's worth!

Available:

all are -9 "Drop Nine"

34"/25oz., 33"/24oz., 32"/23oz., 31"/22oz., 30"/21oz.

2004 Original FastPitch RockeTech

Here it is......the ORIGINAL Rockettech.  Very hard to find.  Or should I say, it's very hard to find an owner willing to sell!  A Holy Grail of fastpitch bats.  This bat started a frenzy that has escalated ever since.  Very valuable.  Sells for about the same as a 2005 used.  But even more if New in the wrapper.  If I had one, I'd keep it as a collectible and piece of Fastpitch history.  I read that this bat has been "grandfathered-in" to the list of legal bats.  ****UPDATE 12/26/2008:  Now, some previously grandfathered bats are no longer legal.  BUT this bat IS legal!! It is specifically listed on the APPROVED list!!****  The diameter of the 2004 is 2 1/4 inches.  It's 100mph~~~~You'd have a legal edge over the competition with this treasure!  Sweet!!  This bat is available in the same sizes as the other years.  34"/25oz., 33"/24oz., etc.   ****UPDATE 5/18/08:  The 2004 new in original wrapper pictured above just sold for over $450.00 plus shipping!  Wow!**** Another has went for almost $600!!****

Be your best, use the best......... Anderson RockeTech.

Period.

If I just HAD to rank the years it would go as follows:

  1. 2005
  2. 2004 (only one that's 100mph)
  3. 2007
  4. TIE! 2008/2009

They are all WONDERFUL bats, the best money can buy.  If I could put them all at #1, I would!!  This is just my opinion...they vary from person to person.  Please, Please, PLEASE do not use this rating to deter you from an 08/09!!  They ROCK!!

Testimonial:

I was told that my daughter should try this Rocket Tech -9 32/23 bat and she would love it.  Well, the first time she went out for a select fastpitch 12u team, she put the ball in right center field about 200' 2-times in a row.  Then she got tired swinging it and she went back to her HAVOC -12 and was knocking the crud out of the ball.  Then at the end of summer, I started my own 14u select team called the Texas Comets White and we continued playing Fall tournaments and my daughter went back to her Rocket Tech.  No comparison to the HAVOC.  She has hit 2 Grand Slams, 4 Home Runs, and countless triples, doubles, and singles.  Everytime she gets up to bat, everyone that knows her or has played with her backs up especially in the outfield.  If you want a good long distance bat, you should consider the Anderson RockeTech.  It's AWESOME............Scott White, Head Coach of the Texas Comets White 14u Girls Fastpitch Team out of Georgetown, TX.

Testimonial:

Hey guys, my names "Pepper" (#44) and I play 14u A-level fastpitch for Atlanta Vipers Black.  We were ranked #1 in Georgia 14u and this year I'm in 16u and am looking for a new bat.........well, I was!  That is, until I purchased the new rocket tech fp 07.  I haven't found where to leave a testimonial for the new bat so I am leaving it here.  I have a batting average of .385 and I was looking to raise it.  I purchased the rocket tech 07 and at batting practice was murdering the ball worse than I was with the 2005 bat.  I scrimmaged last week against Georgia X-treme Heat and hit two doubles, one triple, and then to my surprise an almost over the fence hit that resulted in another triple.  Go VIPERS....we beat HEAT by the way.......8-0..........We have a great team and 6 out of 11 girls have already purchased the new bat.  I advise you get this bat ASAP.

Testimonial:

MY DAUGHTER PLAYS WITH A FASTPITCH TRAVEL TEAM AND MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM.  I PURCHASED HER ROCKET TECH, THE VERY FIRST GAME SHE HIT WITH THE BAT SHE WAS CRUSHING THE BALL FURTHER AND HITTING BLAZING LINE DRIVES.  ALL THE OTHER GIRLS WANTED TO TRY IT.  AS A RESULT THE NEXT WEEK, YOU SOLD 5 MORE ROCKET TECHS.

Testimonial:

My daughter has been using the RocketTech fast pitch bat for 1 1/2 months and the results are amazing.  She was a line drive hitter and still is, but the power the bat produces is unbelievable.  My daughter is 15, a sophomore in high school, small kid, 5'2" 109 lbs.  In the month and a half that she's used it....hit two home runs, numerous triples and doubles......and she's a RUNT!  The bat has turned a line drive hitter into a POWER HITTER.  She hits the ball farther and deeper than anyone else on her team.  Once you hit the "sweet spot", it's all over for the other team.  If you're not using it, YOU BETTER!

Testimonial:

I didn't think a bat could make so much difference.  I thought expensive bats were all hype.  It's the player swinging the bat, right?  Yes and no.  If you can't hit a ball, your odds aren't going to improve just because you're using a better bat.  Bats don't fix eye hand coordination.  What can't be denied is that if you are hitting, you need to be hitting with a Rockettech.  This bat is just flat out amazing!  The ball SCREAMS off the bat.......going further than EVER before.  I had a line drive whiz past the pitcher and 2nd base before they could hardly react.  Plus, I really liked the grip and how easy it seemed to swing.  After using my friends red and silver Rockettech in a couple practices, I decided I HAD to have one.  I even babysat my neighbors kids to help pay for it.  It was SO WORTH IT!!  I've had lots of singles and doubles already this year with 2 triples.  Oh, and my coach has moved me up in the line-up, too!!  I can't wait to get a homerun!!  I have more confidence going up to the plate than I ever did and it's all because of this saaweet bat!!  from #17 Alexis ~~~ Tucson, Arizona

I welcome thoughts about RockeTech from coaches, players, and parents.  Send them to ebay ID crimsonandclover23 if you would like them printed as a "testimonial".

I'm going to continue to work on this........
