As most of you have no doubt heard, there have been some serious and far reaching policy changes that eBay began announcing the end of January 2008. The initial announcement made by Bill Cobb on January 29, 2008 was followed by several more. Some of the changes will take effect this week. Among them will be a number of fee increases.
Others will begin in May 2008 with changes in the feedback structure, effecting both buyers and sellers.
And finally others will be activated in July 2008 that will directly impact many PowerSellers immediately and every PowerSeller eventually.
Each of the changes will effect buyers to one degree or another. I only mention the different policy changes to bring me to the point of this guide:
For details go to Announcements at the bottom of most eBay pages. Scroll down to an announcement made by Bill Cobb the last week in January. Read it carefully and follow the links with in the announcement for more details. There are other more recent announcements along the same line. And there are other changes in addition to those I mentioned above. You may want to check them out.
I will not post the contents of the announcements here because that is not the purpose of this guide. It would be better if you read the actual wording as they appear for everyone to read.
I am writing guide for this for a single important reason.
I want to thank many very special people I have met here in eBay since joining back in January 1999.
To my 1000s of customers. You are all special and I treasure each of you from those who bought a single small item to the ones who have returned over and over again throughout the years. I want to say thank you so very, sincerely for making the past 9 years a special, fulfilling and amazing experience for us.
To all the wonderful, special friendships that have developed over the years. I have been so blessed to have met and gotten to know you. Our friendships already have and will continue to transcend the boundaries of eBay.
And to the many sellers who have offered the wide variety of supplies, tools and information that has made it possible to find what I needed to operate my own eBay business. You are all special, and I treasure each of you. Because of you, it was rarely necessary to leave eBay in search of those items.
This guide is not intended to try to direct anyone down a certain path. It is not written to say anything negative about any one. Each of us must carefully consider the facts as we feel they will effect us. We must each consider how we will live our individual lives. And in the end only we can decide how we will live. As many of you have done already and will do, we carefully looked into the facts. We asked many, many questions. We sent emails with our opinions and requests. We spent many hours in research, thinking over our options and our opportunities. We prayed for wisdom. And we have tried to do it all with honor, dignity and honesty.
I will end this as I began. I want to say Thank You for being you. And for touching our lives for the good, the better, the best.
I wish you all the very best that life has to offer. Consider carefully. Choose wisely. And allow others to do the same. God bless you all. You are very special, personal treasures in my live.
I have written 4 other related guides. Below is one of them. You will find links to the rest at the end of that guide.
