No matter what pattern of these beautiful patterns you collect you will never be disappointed. This part is on the solid white collections with the delicate colored edges. There is a greater demand for the blue which has a more colonial flair than the red does, or at least in my opinion.
Some blue & red sherbets & plates have appeared having the distinctive shape but the pattern was different. This is a novel pattern but will not command the prices that the more distinctive one will.
The Monas pattern can be found rimmed with various colors (black (smoke), gold, green, pink)/ Smoke is considered by some to be black but essentially it is a blue-gray color that only reaches black at the very edge only as if to flirt with our imagination. If you can find smoke - grab it - it can be worth a bundle. A bluish haze does not make Smoke. You want true smoke.
Pink trimmed is also very rare and a great find. The gold trim which my friend Jan loves to collect is not well liked so she has never had a problem in her collecting. You must be careful with the gold trim in your hand washing of them as the gold will disappear under even a ordinary washcloth and I read somewhere that collectors who hated the gold just erased it with a normal eraser.
