What is it about American Idol? Why do people Love or not the show?

What makes it so popular? Randy, Paula, Simon? You never know what Simon will say?  The love of the dream that just any old Jane or Joe can maybe make it big time? That one can actually sing & have a real career?  Look at how far some of the Idol contestants have gone so far from past years? Some have really done very well.  I have watched the show since the very first season an have found that the "Uncertainty", "What's going to happen next", keeps me addicted. The not knowing who will get voted off & what will "Simon" say next!! The fashion & hair, the interesting growth they have or have not keeps watching. You never know what some of them will wear or sing next! We all have our favorites & not so favorites, we all hear the stories etc... It is a very interesting show that is certain. It has been quite a success for quite sometime.

The beginning interviews, are some of these folks for real who try out or just try to get on tv? Some are so certain they will be the next Idol an you know they can't sing to even make it to Hollywood.  I have actually ran across some that don't like the show? It appears that the show has either those people that love it an can't seem to watch it enough. Those that spend hours online learning about the idols. Those that try to buy actual memorbilia of idols & chat online about their favorites. Those that truely are just drawn in by the show & popularity. Or..I have ran across those that just do not like the "reality," the entire idea of taking people to audition to acutally make it? I have ran across folks that can't believe a show like this is actually making it? That why would anyone wait in a line that long, audition an continue to try to beat the odds?

Whatever it is I have found it to be most interesting for both those that love it & don't, either way both sides I have noticed talk about the show.  Just thought I'd share as I have found it very interesting how no matter where you go, who you speak to, adults, teens & even toddlers know about the show!!
