I have found, since ebay changed how the shipping calculator is viewed, the shipping that shows up on the search page is not necessarily the lowest shipping that is offered for whatever particular auction you're looking at.

For an example.  I was looking at a pair of sandals for my daughter.  Shipping was listed as $4.50 for priority.  I read through the page and found at the bottom that the seller was willing to ship using 1st class.  The price for 1st class was like $1.30 or something really close to that. 

From now on I always check the bottom of the page.
