Raising Awareness About Alternative Fuel

Sustainable transportation energy has never been as important as it is today to America’s families, health, economy, and security. Sustainable energy use is increasing as fuel prices soar, global warming increases, and Americans recognize security risks of foreign oil dependence plus personal injuries risks caused by pollution from traditional petroleum/oil-based energy. There is still an education gap, one that we can better close with basic, local awareness raising.
We are now transitioning to next generation biofuels, fuels from high-yield, non-agricultural based fuels grown on non-food producing land. These sources include agricultural feedstock such as Jatropha and Camelina that are easy to grow and proving popular not only in the state of Nevada, but also in developing regions. Perhaps the most promising of all next generation biofuel sources is algae that can be rapidly produced without large areas of land. All of these and others are not only renewable, but more importantly, sustainable.
Recent great strides made in sustainable alternative energy include:
• Las Vegas entire school bus fleet is using biodiesel, resulting in noticeable better air quality and thus, better children's health. (It's well documented that diesel school buses are 4 times more polluting inside the bus than outside the bus. (“Fuel”, 2008.)
• Biofuel Abundance has taken biofuel technology to developing nation villagers, empowering them with hope and independence.
• Sir Richard Branson flew one of his Virgin Airline jets on bio-based jet fuel, proving viability of such fuels for large-scale industrial applications
• Solazyme, San Francisco’s bio-technology company produces algae-oil potentially for various fuels, foods, cosmetic ingredients and others.
• The major motion picture, "Fuel" (aka "Fields of Fuel") winner of 2008 Sundance Audience Choice Best Documentary plus winner of numerous other film festival awards, documents the energy crisis plus solutions for expediting renewable, or more appropriately termed, "sustainable" energy solutions.
Veteran in the field of alternative energy, Michael Wittman partnered with Robert Russell to develop Third Planet Energy (TPE). TPE makes it easy for companies and individuals to obtain numerous biofuel industry products and supplies.
Wittman is in regular contact with the people on the cutting edge of this technology, such as those at Solazyme, Jonathan Goodwin of H-Line Conversion, Craig Reece of Plant Drive, Graydon Blaire of Utah Biodiesel, and of course, Josh Tickell, sustainable energy guru, author, and film-maker. TPE products and supplies are now used by such notable figures such as Neil Young, Jay Leno, Darryl Hannah, and most recently, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Wittman has been privileged to share ideas about alternative energy with his friend, Ed Begley Jr. “As with all of these leaders, Ed gives me great encouragement to continue pioneering sustainable alternatives,” stated Wittman.
TPE promotes alternative fuel emblems because, as with any great movement, a most important thing is communication, expressing to the world what we're doing, thus, raising awareness. Wittman explained, “We decided the best, single way to communicate this message is through applying refined chrome emblems to transportation vehicles. With these emblems, today’s sustainable energy enthusiasts find that they’re raising consciousness about alternative energy solutions.”
If you're an eco-driver, TPE hopes you’ll take this opportunity of sharing alternative energy information with others everywhere you drive, by applying to your vehicle quality emblems from our Third Planet Energy eBay store. If you do, you'll be surprised at how many people stop to ask you for more information about alternative energy simply because of your emblem! Most people learn what they need to know to survive from someone just like you.
