Allen Iverson - Allen Iverson Jersey & Bio
There are more types of Allen Iverson jerseys available than the average person would have time to wear in a lifetime. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but Allen Iverson of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers is one of the names most frequently seen on replica and throwback jerseys. Iverson's name and number (three) are so popular that you can buy retro jerseys for Iverson for eras (like the 50s) when Iverson wasn't even born!
As a 10-year veteran point guard, Iverson has earned his share of impressive statistics and been involved in the occasional requisite controversy due to clashes with famed NBA coach Larry Brown. Clashes or no, Iverson has won the NBA scoring title four times and was league MVP in 2001. In 2005, he scored the most points of any player during the regular season: 2,302.
Iverson was born on June 7, 1975. He grew up desperately poor (no electricity, heat, or water). After a brief stint in jail due to a high school fight, Iverson played basketball for Georgetown University, where he was a standout player, winning many awards and becoming their all-time scorer.
Iverson also stood out as a rookie for the 76ers, and he quickly landed a lucrative contract with Reebok. The Iverson shoe for Reebok was called the Question, because his nickname is the Answer. In addition to shoes and jerseys, Iverson has his own line of apparel, I3, that includes such items as sunglasses.
