Franssas This and ThatDoes your little girl want to be a disney pricess? Does she wear the dresses and want every doll and/or accessory imaginable? Did you ever wonder how it all started? This guide will tell you the history, details of the characters, and future of disney princesses.

History:

The disney pricess line was formed in the year 2000 when it was discovered by Andy Moooney. With very little advertising and no focus groups he released several disney princess items which became a huge success. The idea of princesses were always around but Mr. Mooney focused on Disney. He chose those princesses that were featured in the classic Disney Films. The main six were Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora (sleeping Beauty), Belle, Ariel and Jasmine all of whom have royal title by marriage or birth. Recently, Mulan and Pocahontas have been included as princesses, despite having neither character being a "real" princess. The Pricesses seem to share similarites- for example all have beautiful singing voices, are kind to animals, and end finding their "prince" or soul mate.

Future of Disney Princess

• The first african american Disney Princess is coming. I'm so excited! She is set to come out in the year 2009. Her name is Princess Tiana and will be staring in The Prince and the Pauper.
