All things Rocky IV: The Rocky IV DVD, Rocky IV CD & Rocky IV Quotes
There's not much I believe in... but I know a couple things to be true:
- The 1980s produced the best music and the best movies
- Sylvester Stallone is undoubtedly the funniest (albeit unintentionally) actor. ever.
- Rocky IV is one of the top 5 movies of all time.
- Rocky V didn't happen. I swear.
Rocky IV DVD : About The Best Movie Ever
Rocky saved America from Russia, from Drago, from Steroids and single-handedly won the Cold War. Repay the man by buying his DVD!
Rocky IV should have been the finale of the legendary Rocky series - not Rocky V and not any future Rocky movie that the 60 year old Stallone develops. Sure, Rocky I and II are classics - but they are more dramatic and slower-moving than IV (or even III).In overly melodramatic fashion (and consequently with high comedy), Rocky IV pits the Russians vs. The US in typical Cold War fashion. Arriving from Russia and massively muscular (thanks to steroids and doping), Drago (played by Dolph Lundgren) challenges Rocky to a fight after defeating Apollo Creed - Rocky defies his family and his core beliefs- challenging himself to come out of retirement and take on the seemingly-undefeatable Drago. Once they enter the ring - it's a great 10 minute fight scene - blow by blow.
Rocky IV Highlights:
-
80s music and 80s montages... too many to recount
-
Drago's wife in the movie is Brigitte Nielsen (Stallone's wife at the time) - she of course has gone over the deep end and is now with Flava-Flav
-
The training montage is strangely inspirational and can be watched again and again... in fact, that montage lasts some 15 minutes
-
Rocky's final speech is classic - and single handedly unites Russia and the United States... effectively ending the cold war and ensuring a peaceful existence

Rocky IV CD : Get Pumped Up Now!
If you don't get excited listening to the Rock IV soundtrack, I'm pretty sure you don't have a pulse.
First of all, everyone loves these songs (Eye of the Tiger, No Easy Way Out, Heart's on Fire, Burning Heart - Im getting pumped up just writing this!!!!) and secondly, these are the songs that are played throughout NFL stadiums, locker rooms, and fields everywhere. Just as these songs carried Rocky through the trecherous climate of Russia and inspired him to train and work and train and work some more so that he could defeat Drago, defend his best friend Apollo and save the Cold War - these songs will inspire you to do something equally heroic... I mean the last track is entitled Training Montage... it doesn't get any better!!!!

Rocky IV Quotes
Adrian: It's suicide. You've seen him, you know how strong he is. You can't win.
Rocky: Oh, Adrian. Adrian always tells the truth. No, maybe I can't
win. Maybe the only thing I can do is just take everything he's got.
But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's
gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that,
he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do
that. I don't know.
Rocky: ADRIANNNNNNNNNNNN!
Rocky: I see three of him out there.
Paulie: Hit the one in the middle.
Duke: Right! Hit the one in the middle.
Ludmilla: You call him a killer. He's a professional fighter, not a
killer. You have this belief that you are better than us. You have this
belief that this country is so very good and we are so very bad. You
have this belief that you are so fair and we are so very cruel.
Nicoli Koloff: It's all lies and false propaganda to support this antagonistic and violent government.
Paulie: Whoa. Violent? Hey, we don't keep our people behind a wall with machine guns.
Nicoli Koloff: Who are you?
Paulie: Who am I? I'm the unsilent majority, bigmouth.
Drago: My name is Drago. I'm a boxing fighter. I've came from Soviet
Union. Soon I'll fight with Rocky Balboa and I'll beat him. Soon all
the world will know my name.
